Reporting? Liberal Media Have Much More in Mind Than That
American Thinker ^ | February 21, 2017 | Joe Schaeffer

The mainstream media have stepped up their complaints about President Trump amid pious howls mostly about the First Amendment. The issue, however, has nothing to do with that. It's that these organizations are openly asserting a right to define, control and impose their world-view on us. That's the real problem.

To start, they are defining what is and isn't offensive in America today, claiming they can make those designations even while admitting they don't have all the facts, and that you, the reader, deserve to lose your job if you fall outside of the rigid box they construct. There are numerous recent examples.

On Nov. 1, "for the first time in its 111-year history" Hollywood trade magazine Variety endorsed a presidential candidate, choosing, to nobody's surprise Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Republican Donald Trump "has a long history of disrespect for and objectification of women," the publication explained.

The endorsement went on to vigorously denounce Trump's "sexist, racist views." It also proudly claimed that "Variety frequently writes about how sexism and racism run rampant in Hollywood, publishing such stories as a way to keep shining a light on the inequities that oddly still exist in a business that is largely liberal."

For Variety, Trump is sexist because he said nasty things about news anchor Megyn Kelly and was caught saying vulgar things about women in a private conversation.

But not all women's choices are to be respected. Some can be quite openly mocked in the name of "entertainment."

Actually, what the media is doing is:

They push their preferred meme (republicans and freedom are evil) then they run a poll to verify their effectiveness at driving that.

If they find that messaging didn’t work as effectively as they would have hoped, then they skew the poll results, redouble their efforts and run the poll again. Rinse and repeat as necessary to achieve the desired results.

Their problem now is that they can’t just push a meme and not find resistance, or a counter argument about how their meme’s have failed in the past.

This is what has them perplexed. They don’t understand why the old tried and true method above isn’t working anymore, and why they find themselves under ridicule.

Whenever I encounter one of our local mediots, I point them out and mock them openly. I tell them their degrees are toilet paper and have no real world value. You can see them seething with anger over the questioning of their credentials.

The media is 100% biased and irresponsible.

The media think it’s OK to ask questions like “How do you have any credibility when...” and “Were you lying when you said...”

Trump should stop the next person that asks a question that way and say “the next person that calls me a liar loses their press credentials”.

Then launch into a TV worthy tirade that you are NOT here to lie to people, but to inform why you did this or that people of your point of view.

One thing that is slowing down the media propagandists is that people are becoming much more educated about how propaganda (and the media) operates.

For one, they are running out of euphemisms and obfuscations techniques. One big one that I am sick and tired of hearing is “the right side of history”. Watch for that! It usually means they have no logical argument. Sometimes it just is, to them, a “feel good” emotional phrase or something they shovel in to make them sound important or fill time.

I think it’s perfectly fine to challenge the President on anything, but NOT with the phrases you mention. If they want to challenge a statement, they need to ask specific questions, and not lead off with a biased phrase designed to undermine his integrity before the question is even asked. The fact that they resort to such tactics tells me they have no facts and no real questions. They are only there to denigrate and undermine.

If someone asks “How do you have any credibility when...” I would love to hear him ask right back “How do YOU, in the media, have any credibility, when....” and list 2 or 3 egregious examples. In fact, it would be great if his aids would prepare a list of the top 2 or 3 egregious lies or most recent lies by each media outlet. Then he could fire off a question of his own, and tell them “Get back to me when you’ve finished cleaning house.”

Our President (Yes, he is definitely MY President!!) is holding up remarkably well under a relentless onslaught of innuendo and character assassination. He even seems to relish the back and forth. It’s nice to have a winner in the White House!
