I came to the conclusion that it was a staged coup the first day that news of it broke.
It took me a few hours to deduce it.
Glad to see that NATO, after months, confirms my deduction.
If it was real the tanks would have fired on the “protesters” and no way would Erdogan be walking around, let alone fly back to Ankara or where ever!

My son just returned from living in Istanbul for 2 years.
He described the tanks rolling into the square and the drivers and other soldiers being unclear why they were there. Long story but his observation immediately was it was a fake coup.
Also says a strong division of those who either like Erdogen or dispise him. Most rural areas are against him.
I remember seeing that stated here at the time of the coup. Now the consequences are very serious if proven true.
Many high ranking Turkish officers connected to NATO have been killed. Beheaded on a large bridge by the Esedullah. I’m told there are video’s of it. Did not ask to see it. But am sure I could get the link.

It looked staged from the start. Erdogan is a catastrophe for Turkey and for NATO. Turkey may not be in NATO much longer.

The attempted coup against Erdogan has all the hallmarks of a failed decapitation coup. Leader escapes a bombing attack while troops that don’t know what’s going on our brought out to establish order on the streets and are soon disarmed. You can call that fake, but’s exactly how the coup attempt against Hitler played out...

In the reports that I read about the supposed coup, there never was an attack against Erdogan himself.
That was one of the “tells” that it was not a serious attempt.
I am open to learning of the attempt at decapitation.
To me, it bears all the signs of an totally compromised “coup” encouraged to happen to expose those Erdogan wanted to rid himself of, and to give him an excuse to perform a purge.
