... because you need college to be successful ...

Free! Free! Free is good (unless you're a NY taxpayer)! And no, you DO NOT need college to be successful.

Maybe we should take a hard look at why education costs are rising so rapidly why the quality is going downhill. College degrees are sold on the false premise that it guarantees riches- it never has and never will. It almost a case of fraud.

Look out, New York taxpayers - you’re about to be fleeced again.

How about the precious snowflakes pay for their own college like the rest of us did back in the day.

There are three things that determine success:

1) skills (obtained through self study, hands on or education)
2) dedication (willing to continue your path in the face of adversity
3) motivation or desire (how bad to you want it)

College only addresses one possible path to #1

“And the way this society said we are going to pay for high school because you need high school, this society should say we're going to pay for college because you need college to be successful.”

If you need college to be successful, then you need an IQ of 110 to be successful, and that line of thinking leads directly to a very large number of people the society considers unsuccessful.

Bad, bad, bad.

It's not your money Cuomo. The taxpayers are being assessed to cover that expense. They should have a voice in whether you can enslave them to provide "free" education to people YOU have selected.

Free! Free! All you illegal aliens vote for me!

It used to be that vets received money to help pay for education. Now illegal aliens get education for free.

But... but what happens to this ‘plan’ if Cuomo is indicted (and maybe even convicted) before he gets a chance to make this boondoggle the centerpiece of his Communist-inspired run for the presidency in 2020?

And if he is not indicted by then, will he dress up as Santa Claus whenever he goes campaigning?

Good. So move to NY when you’re 17. Get someone else to pay for your college, then move away when you start earning money.

(article):" ... because you need college to be successful ..."

oh8eleven :" Free! Free! Free is good (unless you're a NY taxpayer)!

You don't need a college education; you need to think, reason, and be able to adapt to be successful, not just attend the Liberal policies of academia for 16 years.
Cuomo is just trying to "out-Communist/ out-Progressive" folks like Bernie Sanders

This means that Cuomo is running for President in the year 2020,
and he'll climb all over Clinton's corpse to do it !

“give free”

So he is paying for it himself?

Welcome to 13th - 18th grade, suckers.

Never hire a person form a NY university.

I heard this on local (NYC) radio a little while ago and halted in my tracks. I simply could not believe my ears. FREE COLLEGE? Number 1, how are NY taxpayers going to afford this? Number 2, this will absolutely encourage deadbeat morons who have no business in college to waste valuable resources and cost taxpayers big bucks for absolutely NO return on the investment. Number 3, knowing Cuomo Libtard's proclivities, he will encourage ILLEGAL ALIENS to be among these free college attendees. Isn't that the last straw?

Parents all over scrimp and save to send their kids to college, and these scum stand to just walk in and get a free college education, leaving the already overtaxed NY taxpayers to pay for their escapades. If Cuomo thinks this will make him a more attractive candidate for 2020, I think he is dead wrong. I remember his "give away the store" stint at HUD and it's obvious he has not changed. He's for EVERYTHING for EVERYONE so long as it's not out of his own pocket. Libtard TURD!

I just got off the phone from my libtard state senator's office and gave them an infuriated but reasoned discourse on why this is a financially and socially irresponsible thing to do. BTW, a news article in the NYT states that BERNIE SANDERS, one of the 10 Morons of the Western World, is shoulder to shoulder in support of Cuomo's announcement.
