What I think concerning "Law Enforcement"...

I think that ALOT of the 'COPS'" Problems stem from when they went from being "Peace Officers" to "Law Enforcement".

Honestly....Are you from DU? Are you a paid government school defender?

Yes, anyone who disagrees with you must surely be paid to do so by nefarious forces.

How could it be otherwise?

Is it possible that it is not law enforcement but the laws they are enforcing?

Maybe so, but in most instances, the child/yute will not know the source of the discipline unless the parents articulate such source by siding with the child on the child’s misbehavior (e.g., “They can’t do that to my child!” while the child listens to this). I understand your position, and can see how knowing the government as the source could fuel dependence, at least in a public setting. But like you say, in a private setting, it is more likely very clear from where the discipline/authority is derived. I guess, in either case, it again falls on the parent to choose—not so good in these times.

If you don't want to be able to have any control over curriculum in the schools, how would you go about ensuring that a private school educated your children to your satisfaction? Or, are you sure that once your children enroll into a private school everything will be perfect?

I am certainly not a government shill; however, I do have plenty experience with managers in government agencies as well as corporations. They are driven by the same goals and utilize the same tools to achieve those goals.

Instead of attacking me personally, try addressing the issues I have raised. It could be that I am searching for the same things as you, but have covered actual ground in that quest. Be helpful. Don't converse like a liberal.

I simply don't know how the parents of the millions of children educated in Catholic schools of the 1950s or 1960s managed without the government school boards dictating every move but somehow they did.

How on earth are the parents managing today with their kids in private school without government micro or macro management?

No school is perfect in the same way as no supermarket is perfectly stocked to meet every single niche need in every community. ( Mine doesn't sell scrapple.) It is the same with schools. Parents choose private schools that best suits their child's needs. It is impossible to find one that fits **”perfectly”** ( as you claim you want.)

And...It's for darn sure that no government school is perfect. They are all godless and that alone is a major hole in the lives of millions upon millions of children.

They can’t do that to my child!”
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Private schools have the freedom to hold parents accountable. If all schooling were privatized we would soon see better parenting.

One of the very good things about private school is that the school can say, “ Oh really? Well,....Then this school isn't a good fit for your child. Time to find another school.”

There was a private school in my area that supervised homeschoolers. Once a month they had a meeting with the parents where sound parenting principles were taught to the parents. They definitely were **not** politically correct. At the end of the general meeting the men and women separated into groups. I thought it was and excellent idea that strong fathers were teaching other men how to be leaders in their families.

Can you imagine **that** happening in a government school?

It's long past time that every government school in this nation were shut down.

Voucher, charters, and tax credits can help build the private infrastructure but the goal should be complete separation of school and state with charity assisting the poorest.

If we did that we would have fewer in the “poorest” category that needed charity.

I definitely remember those days.
In the right jurisdictions, Cop would more than likely have your car towed home while he would drive you there.

I had a case while in DC I was detained and they ‘hid’ my car. Took me to the Precinct (while they were hiding car), called a cab, made sure I had enough money, had cab take me to Virginia with cabbie given strict orders to take me HOME only.

I had ‘fallen asleep’ at a light and a Detective friend of mine ran on the scene and arranged everything.

Knowing the Detective and more than a few cops because of my work also helped.

Yes, we each must choose what we think is best for our children. That would include any type of school, wouldn’t it?

I think a lot of “COPS Problems” as you refer to them stem from not getting paid enough.

Would they behave differently if they were paid more?

Like around 35K per year.

A HS grad can pull in well over $115K after a couple of years in SoCal.
