(CNN)When Scott Pruitt and I assembled a Restoring Federalism Task Force last year, he headlined the plan: "Putting Washington In Its Place." Those five words sum up exactly what the American people were clamoring for in this election: a dramatic shift of power out of a broken Washington and back into the hands of the people.
I cannot think of a person more suited to lead the Environmental Protection Agency than Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, someone who understands how to rein in an out-of-control bureaucracy and ensure that Washington focuses solely on its core functions.
Pruitt and I share a common vision for empowering the states and limiting the intrusion of the federal government in every area of our lives. He understands that a government closest to the people is best able to serve their interests.

And this of course begs the question as to whom Yeb would have installed as EPA head, to what end and what ideology.

Turning it around does no good in the long term. After Trump it will revive and quickly surpass its 2016 self. Kill it and fire, terminate, discharge all its employees.

Trump admin. has some great appointees already.... whereas Yeb, if he has somehow become the nominee, would have swooned before Hillary and we would have the renewed Clinton-Bush dynasty preparing for office on Jan. 20.

There is neither honor nor integrity in any part or person of the Old Elite. Nothing they do is ever for anything other than the destruction of opposition in any form or function.

I know what you mean. I didn't (and still don't) know much about Mr. Pruitt, but since the Greenies were up in arms I figured he must be pretty good.
But then Jeb had to deflate my balloon by endorsing him.

Even if he does that, it’s a drop in the bucket. We need to get federalism back in play. I grew up in Idaho before the EPA but the Kennedy family used the state as its personal playground, getting huge areas set aside as wilderness areas and such, mainly so they could use it a couple weeks a year when they came to vacation. Afterwards they returned to their Massachusetts broad tax base while we had to cope with the federal government’s ownership of our state. So long as the federal government assumes the power to control land use from afar, whether through monument and park designations, EPA, Army Corps of Engineers, or whatever, we are at its mercy.
