Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg has a message for his fellow thespians: Stop talking politics.
The star of Patriots Day, an upcoming film on the Boston Marathon bombing, sat down with Task and Purpose to promote his work. The website, which is dedicated to issues of interest to veterans, asked him what he thought of Hollywoods recent attempts to undercut Republican Donald Trumps presidential campaign.
A lot of celebrities did, do, and shouldnt, Mr. Wahlberg told the website. You know, it just goes to show you that people arent listening to that anyway. They might buy your CD or watch your movie, but you dont put food on their table. You dont pay their bills. A lot of Hollywood is living in a bubble. Theyre pretty out of touch with the common person, the everyday guy out there providing for their family.
The actor went on to say that although he is at ease navigating the entertainment industry and enjoying its perks, he still understands what its like not to have all that.
Im very aware of the real world, he said. I come from the real world and I exist in the real world. And although I can navigate Hollywood and I love the business and the opportunities its afforded me, I also understand what its like not to have all that. Patriots Day, which is set for release in U.S. theaters Dec. 21, tells the story of heroism displayed by law enforcement

His felony conviction was for attacking, and permanently blinding, a nonwhite person in a racially-motivated hate crime.
That guy is still blind.
