President Obama granted commutations to another 79 federal drug offenders Tuesday, pushing the number of inmates he has granted clemency past 1,000.
Obama’s historic number of commutations was announced as administration officials are moving quickly to rule on all the pending clemency applications from inmates before the end of the year. The Trump administration is not expected to keep in place Obama’s initiative to provide relief to nonviolent drug offenders.

If they were only convicted of marijuana possession or dealing, and it’s in states that legalized it, that does make sense.
Everything this man does is ultimately harmful to America. I fear his last days in office. Not only is he dangerous, but there are so many rogue countries out there who will feel they need to do their dirty work while the weakling is in the WH. Hope we get to January 20th without an attack on Israel....or America.

How many teens and young adults have overdosed / dead as the result of these “non-violent” drug pushers.
I guess that’s why they’re considered non-violent as opposed to non-lethal.
Here are a few of them. Lots of cocaine and crack cocaine. These are not just dudes pulled over possessing a joint. I see one had 5KGs of cocaine. But some had already served served 20 years or so. I don’t know past history of these criminals and that should factor into the mix.

Sentence: 240 months’ imprisonment; 10 years’ supervised release (March 25, 2003)
Commutation Grant: Prison sentence commuted to expire on November 22, 2018, conditioned upon enrollment in residential drug treatment.
• Anthony Arthur — Killeen, Tex.
Offense: Conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute at least 50 grams of “crack cocaine”; Western District of Texas
Sentence: 210 months’ imprisonment; five years’ supervised release; $1,000 fine (August 3, 2005)
Commutation Grant: Prison sentence commuted to expire on March 22, 2017.
• Lisa Woods Ball — Sugar Grove, Va.
Offense: Conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine; Western District of Virginia
Sentence: 240 months’ imprisonment; 10 years’ supervised release (March 3, 2009)
Commutation Grant: Prison sentence commuted to a term of 188 months’ imprisonment
• Albert Betemit — New York
Offense: Conspiracy to distribute in excess of five kilograms of powder cocaine and 50 grams of cocaine base; possession with intent to distribute cocaine (three counts); distribution of cocaine; possession with intent to distribute in excess of 50 grams of cocaine base (two counts); distribution in excess of 50 grams of cocaine base (two counts); unlawful use of a communication facility; Eastern District of Virginia
Sentence: Life imprisonment; four years’ supervised release (September 25, 1996)
Commutation Grant: Prison sentence commuted to a term of 300 months’ imprisonment.
I am surprised it is not 10X more. Maybe he will wait till the last week to go Saddam on us.
He’s going to empty the prisons as much as he possibly can.
