Sacramento Bee ^ | November 21, 2016 | Editorial Board

Few states pay closer attention to food than California. We are the cradle of the Central Valley and almond milk lattes, the home of of Full Belly Farms and Alice Waters and Ikeda markets, the state that introduced America to soda taxes and tomatoes to die for and cage-free hens.

The incoming occupant of the White House, however, is an overweight junk food aficionado who, during the campaign, tweeted so many photos of himself with Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonald’s fries and taco bowls

So add overweight junk food aficionado to racist, xenophobe, homophobe, misogynist, Islamophobe.

The federal government should have no role in setting ‘good food policy’

So now liberals attack Trump for enjoying American comfort food.

These people are hilarious.

Before all this happened, DJT would than Barron to the food court at Trump Tower for McDonalds cheeseburger & fries

so now Trump’s supposed to be against food?

the SacredTomato Bee is about as far leftist or communistic a newspaper as the NYTimes .. with the same problem, too, of its editorial slant permeating its “news” sections

I would not complain much at all if these damned media would cover the news fairly and express their political biases on their OpEd pages where they belong

Only the state can supply “good food”. Like Venezuela.

and at least SacBee did put this idiotic opinion/hit piece on its OpEd page!

but usually you can read or see the same silly or leftwing political opinions right in the paper’s “news” sections

Soda taxes are a ‘good food policy’. Sure.

I don’t recall such articles when WJC came to the WH with his junk food habits.

BTW Mrs. RQSR says “He doesn’t give a —— what we eat.”

I've looked everywhere in the Constitution and I don't see Food Policy. But then, this is the Sacramento Bee, who not only has an alternate copy of the Constitution but inhabits an alternate universe.

"Good" policy means "one we like". I'd like to put them on a steady diet of Mooch's school lunches and ask them about that "good" food policy in about a month.

Sacramento (and CA for that matter), should mind its own Sacramento Beeswax.

Michelle Obama’s “Healthy Lunch” initiative was unpopular and found no takers with kids in schools.

Yet the Sac Bee wants to force liberal food preferences down American throats.

No wonder they’re upset about Trump.

I actually clicked on the link to read the whole screed, and yes it was painful. Juvenile dreck from beginning to end, dripping with condescension. Sounds straight out of a “teens for Mao” focus group in 1950’s china.

Have you seen that libs are saying that Barron is autistic? All over google and a friend on Facebook (a conservative!) just parroted it. I had to scold her but she’s sticking to her guns.

Hey California, while you cast about looking of the reasons Trump won, you might add to your list, much of the US has had a belly full what Californians think. What we should or should not eat is included. Why don’t you just go ahead and succeed. We can turn north on the wall at Yuma and run it up to Bullhead City.
