Exit polls were wrong about how many Asian Americans supported Trump
Fusion ^ | Nov. 9, 2016 AD | Steph Yin

A striking majority of Asian-American voters backed Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump, according to a national poll.

The Asian-American National Election Eve Poll concluded that 75% of Asian Americans voted for Clinton, while only 19% voted for Donald Trump—a much wider margin than found by exit polls, which reported 65% of Asian Americans voting for Clinton.

“Once again, the national media exit-poll numbers for Latinos and Asian Americans didn’t do it right and didn’t get it right,” Taeku Lee, UC Berkeley political science professor and the survey’s lead researcher, said in a release.....

Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) are increasingly poised to shape U.S. elections. For two decades, they’ve been the nation’s fastest-growing racial group and one of its fastest-growing electorates. Since 2000, the AAPI electorate has grown by 620,000 voters with each presidential cycle. By 2040, one in every 10 Americans will be AAPI, and the number of AAPI voters will double to 12 million.

With so many elections determined by unnervingly small margins, Asian Americans have the power to influence outcomes, Ichinose said....

In key swing states, Asian Americans boosted votes for Clinton, with 83% supporting her in Pennsylvania, 78% in Virginia, 73% in North Carolina, and 72% in Florida.....

As a whole, Asian Americans held liberal stances on many big issues; most supported protection for undocumented immigrants, the Affordable Care Act, stricter gun laws, and LGBTQ rights.

I’ll trust exit polls over ‘scientific’ polls any day. Their scientific polls are created with junk science.

this doesn’t surprise me at all. They are socially conservative but they vote left. Some of it is a ‘not white’ prejudice.

We continue to import people who shift the politics of America to the left. Scrap the 1965 immigration act or it will just get worse.

Smartest people in the world voting for the dumbest party in the world. Thanks to Democratic policies, their children are kept out of higher institutions of learning to allow the likes of a Michelle Obama to come in and bluff their way to a diploma.

Stupid!

I thought the “Hispanics” were the fastest growing Marxist/Socialist group in America! I’m not buying this for one minute.

Another clear illustration of why the democrats are so gung-ho on bringing in more immigrants. Illegal immigration is a serious problem, but legal immigration is the great force that is profoundly changing the landscape of this nation.

For example, Virginia was a solid red state for decades, now it’s solid blue. Visit the northern counties near D.C. and see how it’s becoming a veritable United Nations enclave. Asians and Middle Easterners everywhere. North Carolina is on the cusp. Soon, many current reliable red states will follow.

What do,they include as Asian? Are people from Iraq, Iran, and India as well as Japan and China Asian? If so, the statistic is hard to interpret.

Also, Orientals want as much free stuff as possible for the floods of family members they bring over via chain migration. Fears, too, about an end to birthright citizenship — no more flying to the US on a tourist visa at 8+ months into a pregmancy, and then dropping a “citizen” on American soil.

By sheer numbers, yes Hispanics are the fastest growing. By percentage, Asian growth is faster. I also believer Muslim growth, by percentage, is faster.

Asian-Americans bring their views from the Pacific rim, mainly the PRC (China). They support Democrat Progressive vermin like Obama & Clinton, but....only, to aid & abet the downfall of the American Republic and boost the Chinese PTC!/Korea. Japan!! It’s a simple as that!!! Too bad the American media has no clue to Oriental loyalties!!! The good news is, POTUS, Donald Trump knows the Oriental mantra, from A-Z!!!

In their hearts and souls, the Orientals, Asians are business people from head to toe!!! They will work with, and support DJT, enmasse!!!

Good point. Far East Asians (formerly known as orientals) and Indians are considered “Asian” by the Federal Government. Pakistanis, Iranians, Afghanis, etc. are considered Caucasian.
Some years ago, the Indian Americans lobbied Washington to be classified as Asian.
