The wow aspect is not so much that Sean Hannity purchased it, but rather that Jon McNaughton actually sold the original. McNaughton never sells his originals
at least he never used to.
November 9th McNaughton announced via facebook that he sold the original to Sean Hannity:
Sean Hannity just purchased my painting The Forgotten Man to give to Donald Trump to hang in the White House https://www.facebook.com/mcnaughtonart/posts/10154731620468653

Excellent. Hannity supported Trump on Fox thru some tough times.

The painting is excellent in every way. But I suspect it will be hung at Donald’s home or in one of his private White House rooms. It’s subject matter is blunt and uncompromising.
Great work.

So let me just say...
This may be one of those things that just won’t do in political circles. It is a slap in the face of many Dem Presidents.
He may have to hang it in the personal residence.
Of course, since Trump is taking a wrecking ball to the whole system..I guess he can hang it anywhere ;-)

Against the background of a darkening sky, all of the past Presidents of the United States gather before the White House, as if to commemorate some great event. In the left hand corner of the painting sits a man. That man, with his head bowed appears distraught and hopeless as he contemplates his future. Some of the past Presidents try to console him while looking in the direction of the modern Presidents as if to say, "What have you done?" Many of these modern Presidents, seemingly oblivious to anything other than themselves, appear to be congratulating each other on their great accomplishments. In front of the man, paper trash is blowing in the wind. Crumpled dollar bills, legislative documents, and, like a whisperthe U.S. Constitution beneath the foot of Barack Obama. The Forgotten Man

So who owns the art work once it is given. Does it belong to the WH??? Or can it belong to Trump if given before he takes office?

I want to see him park his OCC gold-plated chopper right smack in the front hall of the White House.

Funny thing is Obama and the Dems continued to blame Bush for everything that went wrong for his entire 8 years.
Now they are telling us Trump immediately owns whatever happens on day 1 of him entering office.
It wouldn’t hurt to hang up a reminder of the Obama legacy that Trump will be spending the next 8 years digging out of. :)

The President can not accept gifts.
It will go to the National Gallery.
Of course there is a provision for him (the President) to buy the “gift”.
Once it goes the National Gallery he can request it be hung in the White House
(at least that is the way I understand it)
To: RummyChick
It is an absolute FY to Obama. I doubt Trump hangs it in the White House. What he could do is get the bust of Winston Churchill back and display that. That would send a message.
