‘Never Trump’ Becomes ‘Maybe Trump’ in Foreign Policy Sphere (Job Hunters)
NY Times ^ | 11/11/2016 | MARK MAZZETTI, HELENE COOPER and ERIC SCHMITT

WASHINGTON — Like no other part of the Republican establishment, the party’s foreign policy luminaries joined in opposition to the idea of a Donald J. Trump presidency.

Loyal Republicans who served in the two Bush administrations, they appeared on television and wrote op-eds blasting him. They aligned under a “Never Trump” banner and signed a letter saying they were “convinced that he would be a dangerous president and would put at risk our country’s national security and well-being.”

On the establishment side, the opposition is now softening for some — driven either by a stated sense of patriotic duty to advise a new president with no foreign policy expertise, or a somewhat less noble motive to avoid years of being excluded from Washington power circles.

Doubt Trump will allow these traitors (who were essentially voting for Hillary) into NatSec positions.

I hear John Bolton’s name being thrown out there as a possible Secretary of State, but I know he has ties to a lot of these Bush connected neocons. I’m almost sure Bolton is in their ranks. We can’t keep going down that warmonger road with neocons in charge of our foreign policy apparatus.

These snakes don’t deserve a place in his Administration.

They made it perfectly clear what side they were on.

And they’re weasels, too.

Note to anyone with the incoming Trump administration:

I applied at the website “greatagain.gov” today. I have never, ever applied for any government job, but I would love to work for the government now.

I will work, and work, and work.

I am currently in Vietnam, where I am studying the Vietnamese language. But I am just studying, I can start work immediately.

You can probably figure out who I am, if you want to contact me. I sure hope so.

Jim Thompson, I know FR is not a job posting site. I won’t post any more about this. But I really, really want to work for this administration. I have absolutely no background in government. I did work with computers for 20 years though.

Thanks. Over and out.

I think he is a good, logical hard realist, but his connection to the Bushes doesn’t create any good will in me for him. IMO, we need a break from the old and a connection to the sense of abandonment that drive by America has had for this government. And in my opinion he was part of that regardless of how great he his.

this was a nothing burger of an article.

The NYT has really regressed as a journalist organization in the last 10 year.

If they worked for either Bush or are a part of the in-club they need to be avoided. The Bush family is as much a stain on the country as the Clintons with their liberalism.

Why would he want a bunch of losers who got everything wrong? Maybe they can get jobs with the Clinton Foundation.
