It’s for US Attorney Preet Bahara (his district) to impanel a grand jury to get a search warrant just so that they can get access to these devices which reside with the NYPD.
Note here, Preet Bahara took down NY’s Democrat Assembly Speaker with glee.
Bahara answers to Obama’s attorney general. So as the democrats cry for disclosure, the only thing that would delay/hamper that is Obama’s attorney general.
But, if Bahara impanels the grand jury to get a search warrant that could end with Hillary being charged with multiple felonies, possibly tens of counts. Catch 22. She’s done!
Even the obfuscations the Clinton Campaign is using about release are crazy flawed.
Hows does this play with previous immunity? Or is this a separate thing?

Preet already empaneled a grand jury and got a warrant for both Weiner’s and Huma’s computers, phones, etc. It only applies to the NYPD Sex Crimes investigation, however. For the FBI to use this info in a separate case requires a search warrant specifically for that purpose.
The DoJ isn’t interested in prosecuting piaps. But weiner is facing some time in the steel bar hilton. So he’s probably ready and willing to sing like a canary. It’ll be interesting to see where this goes.
