Hillary Clinton has two important challenges in the final presidential debate on Wednesday in Las Vegas. Neither involves trying to discredit Donald Trump.
The first will be to respond to and explain what has been learned from the hacking of campaign Chairman John Podesta's email account and other recent revelations. The second and perhaps even more important task will be to make a strong, affirmative and compelling case for a possible Clinton presidency.
Clinton's strategy in the first debate was to poke and provoke Trump, knowing that his thin skin could be easily pierced and that, when it was, he would lose control, veer wildly off course from whatever message or pre-debate plan was in place and become his own worst enemy. She was as deft as she could be, though hardly subtle. Trump's unraveling was no doubt even greater than she and her advisers had expected.
Her strategy in the second debate was - well, what exactly was it? Trump arrived reeling politically from the release two days earlier of the "Access Hollywood" video in which he spoke crudely about women and bragged of acts that would amount to sexual assault. Clinton didn't have to do much in the second debate, and she crossed that lowered bar.
Reputable polls said she was judged the winner, although by a smaller margin than in the first debate.

We're crapping our pants ... as abundantly demonstrated in this puff piece ... because our favorite Libtard is dropping like a turkey turd from a tall pine.
“Reputable polls said she was judged the winner, although by a smaller margin than in the first debate.”
Bwahahahahaha, these guys are just too funny. Hahahaha, hehehehehe.
Dan obviously has no Balz
Trump is a fast learner.
The Wash Compost fears a blowout.
The closeted lesbian has gone home and shut the door.
The hills are alive with the smell of lefty flopsweat.
Go Trump, win win win.
You know I am sad to say that I watched the Sound of Music again and when it came to the opening song I sang along...The Hills Are Alive, With The Sound Of Jihad...ahlalala. It is so tragic what is happening to Germany.
When Germans avoid an opportunity to swill bier and scarf weinerschnitzel in October, you know there’s a problem.
But I expect to hear Angie say the words “Islamic terrorism” when monkeys fly out of Hillary’s ....
I’m not sure Hillary will show up. She can’t say she’s sick. But her airplane could have engine trouble and they’ll have to make an emergency landing. Maybe even dodging sniper fire.
Scumbag since forever.
In The Tank For The Skank.
“Reputable polls said she was judged the winner,”
Yes but if Trump is listening he just gave him plenty to go after her,She has no vision except her own bank account, open borders? In this day and age, drugs and terrorism?
Selling out the country to foreigners, supreme court.
Why do I think Trump will just say rigged a thousand times and ignore all that Hillary is responsible for.
He said yesterday as a joke he could have come a couple hours late to read the latest Wikileak emails but came to his supporters instead, well Donald some of that info may help you to make your supporters happy nov 8th
The dopes on the left still think she won the 2nd debate??
Is that why Trump’s Twitter followers jumped from 12.0M to 12.5M today?
It will be amazing if this subject is even broached at all, let alone discussed in any depth. The stupid half of the country who do not seek out what happened haven't heard any of it, and/or don't give a damn, anyway.
I'm not holding my breath...
Read up to that point; not real journalism.
I expect Trump to breach it even if Chris Wallace doesn't raise it, or even tries to interrupt.
I think Trump should dismiss any questions at all about the recent unsubstiated accusations of sexual abuse: "I know you people don't follow the news outside of your own echo chamber, Chris, but I emphatically deny those unsubstantiated accusations and have done so in my speeches and online.
"What I want to talk about is Hillary's commitment to globalism, which is another word for a direct assault on the sovereignty and independence of the United States. . . ."
And he should go on from there. He needs to take control in this last debate, and not let Wallace distract with endless questions about these irrelevant allegations.
Balz is raising the bar for Hillary, and requiring her to do the impossible to “win”. Should we have a problem with that? His comments about who “won” the 2nd debate merely damn Hillary with faint praise.
Balz requirement #1: Hillary must explain the Wikileaks revelations.
Hillary couldn’t do that if she had 100 hours, and will not try; she will try to quash the whole issue by pretending to be a victim of Russian/Trump perfidy. Trump should point out that she is blowing smoke to avoid answering, and pound her with fact after fact revealed in the emails.
Balz requirement #2: Hillary must assert a compelling reason for her to be president.
That’ll be the day — She’s had 30 years to make her case and has come up with “gotta vagina”. Trump should make a positive case for getting the economy on track, taking a pro-American perspective, returning to the Rule of Law for everyone, flushing Hillary-style Big Government/Big Nurse policies and the elitist corruption she embodies. His goal will be peace instead of endless wars, and building prosperity so that refugees will not feel compelled to leave their homes. No more decline, corruption, globalist sell-outs of American jobs, foreign intervention, wars, and constant crises contrived to give government another excuse to grow at the people’s expense.
When Dems require Hillary to do more than show up and say “grope”, I’ll take it.
Those two points stood out for me also, ‘wikileaks’ and ‘reason she should be president’.
That the Post even —mentions— the wikileaks & reason-for-president is big news.
I expect to hear Trump reply to every Hillary response - “is that your private answer or public answer?”
