Warming Russia-Turkey relations send a chill through Ukraine

Turkey and Russia went to a Cold War, which Russia quickly won. Turkey threatened to seize the Dardanelles, over which the Crimean War (”World War Zerp”) had been fought. Russia blasted the hell out of Turkey’s allies in Syria, prompting Turkey to flip from pro-ISIS to anti-ISIS. Now, Russia is using Turkey to influence Ukraine.

I had dinner last night with a Russian who is very knowledgeable and who said that the entire game of Russia in the Mideast is the construction of these pipelines.

I'm curious...what language were you both using and how conversant are each of you in that language?

It would have to prevail AGAINST evil. But if and when it does, it will look like it is coming from the most improbable places. If one looks at a map of Europe in 1914 and compares it to a map of 1918 one sees that Germany retained much of its territory but if one looks at the map after 1945 the difference between ' 45 and ' 14 is Moreover, the Empire of Eastern Europe, the Habsburg Empire, disappears altogether after The First World War and we end up with a lesson which teaches that diversity is not strength but an Achilles' heel.

But the difference for Germany after 1945 is that Stalin committed one of the bloodiest crimes in history when he drove the ethnic Germans out of Prussia, Sudetenland and elsewhere. I have read accounts in my area here of people being forced to take in ethnic German refugees driven West by Stalin who otherwise would die of exposure and starvation. Therefore, to establish the eastern German border after such an ethnic cleansing is to do what Hitler wanted to do: acquire lebensraum at the expense of the Slavs because it is the Slavs who moved into formerly occupied German areas.

The Germans themselves don't think in these terms, they recoil at the idea of territorial acquisition, they want to trade and they do it very successfully indeed. Borders are not on their mind except as it concerns a growing minority, perhaps already a majority, who fear refugee incursions across the borders. But the whole spirit of the EU is to do away with borders and it has survived until now when it crashed because of Brixet and because of the refugee crisis.

So Germany is now trying to cure its schizophrenia generated by a leftist ideology shared by Hillary and the elitist, leftist class in Germany of open borders and the brotherhood of man against the very practical reality of a refugee crisis which threatens both economic and physical security.

Russia is NOT the US. They are indeed capable of such diabolical plots. They have a long proven history of it. The KGB and their successor, the FSB, were/are masters of the art of deception.

We spoke in English (a language which still confounds me) because I have no Russian and he has no German. His English is rather good because he spends much time in Europe where the universal language of international business is English, even to the extent that Germans in the office often speak to each other in English but in German when they go after work to the beer garden.

He and his wife are here because they're son of 13 years is attending German Gymnasium and they are desperate to give the kid a Western European start in life.

It is a commonality in Old Testament literature (and happens even in New Testament) for names to have pun meanings. Another source has a probable origin of Gog as meaning roof and the “Ma” prefix as meaning what or who. I note your mocking without attempting to add actual information that the Hebrew speaker would likely find attention drawn to. No, the KJV does not give it all, not even close.

REV. BOB SCHENCK, NATIONAL CLERGY COUNCIL: "it's based in Marxism. At the core of his [Wright's] theology is really an anti-Christian understanding of God, and as part of a long history of individuals who actually advocate using violence in overthrowing those they perceive to be oppressing them, even acts of murder have been defended by followers of liberation theology. SCHENCK: "I was actually the only person escorted to Dr. Wright. He asked to see me, and I simply welcomed him to Washington, and then I said Dr. Wright, I want to bring you a warning: your embrace of Marxist liberation theology. It is contrary to the Gospel, and you need, sir, to abandon it. And at that he dropped the handshake and made it clear that he was not in the mood to dialogue on that point."

Like the pro-communist Liberation Theology that swept Central America in the 1980s and was repeatedly condemned by Pope John Paul II, Black Liberation Theology combines warmed-over 1960s vintage Marxism with carefully distorted biblical passages. However, in contrast to traditional Marxism, it emphasizes race rather than class. The Christian notion of "salvation" in the afterlife is superseded by "liberation" on earth, courtesy of the establishment of a socialist utopia.

In the days when the Superpowers were locked in a Cold War, Latin America seethed with revolution, and millions lived behind an iron curtain, a group of theologians concocted a novel idea within the history of Christianity.
