Insane mother. Child abuse.
Especially if you've had kids and already know that they love you unconditionally, and you're the hero of their story, no matter what.
Well, except when they're teenagers, but that phase passes....
How narcissistic does someone need to be, to not be satisfied with this?
It’s a sad story. Suicide is very common among people with this mental disorder. In this case, a perfectly cute 15 year old girl killed herself. But the idea that all will be well if the rest of society twists itself into knots to validate a delusion is absurd.
It is amazing that one has to state such an obvious truth, but that is how crazy some in our nation have become.
One nice thing about S. MS is that folks still have a sense of humor and conservative values - local news shows a different Elementary class saying the Pledge each morning.
And this fully-affirmed "transgender" was nevertheless suicidal, had inflicted deep lacerating wounds on herself, and was thinking of, threatening, and trying to commit, suicide.
It's safe to say that the pervasive home-based "affirmation" of a non-coherent gender identity either caused, or at least did not prevent, a strong suicidal tendency.
Then, six weeks AFTER hospitalization, the poor child succeeds in committing suicide --- which had first presented as a problem way, way BEFORE the 48-hour hospitalization --- and the mother sues the hospital!
Put me on that jury. Good Lord. Put me on it and I will throw out this fraudulent case in a New York minute.
You'll notice that the addled mother's point of view is the only one really showcased in the article. The hospital is prevented by privacy laws to say anything more than the impersonal legal blah-blah-blah, so the mother's emotional grandstanding gets to hog public sympathy via what passes for journalism.
Yes, I'm starting to get angry. I stare at the page and see one dead child.

It should be increasingly clear that you will have legal trouble if you have anything to do with these aggressive mentally ill souls. Steer clear at all costs.
I feel sorry for the mother and really do not wish to blame her but the truth must be told. She needs to acknowledge her own responsibility for enabling her DAUGHTERS’s mental disorder. Rather than seeking to affirm the lie that her daughter was a boy she should have gotten the proper treatment so that her daughter could recognize that she was indeed a girl.
Indeed, was a missing father a contributing factor in this girl's mental disorder? Also, how many young children are being confused because we now live in a society that refuses to admit the real differences between men and women?
Mom played into her XX offsprings’ need for attention. The hospital didn’t. Put me on the jury and mom would be paying the court fees.
Medically she was a girl, and that often makes a difference in how she is monitored or treated. What if she had been referred to as a boy and some treatment appropriate for boys had been administered to her. Until she had hormone treatments, I would expect medical personnel to adhere to physiological reality.

Now I know there are some deformed people out there who have both. Exceptions to the above rule. But that is it.
