Sometimes the media is the only way to air broader concerns. Donald knows something about how to get them to show the truth even when they don’t particularly want to. Let’s give Donald a chance.

Guy was on PCP, 8 outstanding warrants, acted crazy, and looks as though the cops tazed him or were going to. The article above has some info, other places have more.

And it does not need to rise to the level of “crime” to be worthy of systemic concern. Often we permit Caesar to forgive or acquit things that are in fact moral affronts to God. It’s an evil that is unavoidable.

Versus the car window being shut, however.

I could be...that the officer just screwed up and pulled her gun..instead of her taser.

IMO this is already a little too much from him. How many times have we groaned at Obama’s two cents on police shootings.

Two fundamental differences.

1) Obama weighed in while he was already in office to interfere. Trump is interviewing for the job still, and police shootings are a hotly debated topic that Trump as a candidate will have to address.

2) Obama made arrogant imperious judgments like: "The police acted stupidly". Or divisive statements like "If I had a son, he would look like...". Trump did not make a final judgment on this case. He discussed his impression of it based on the video he saw and he also allowed that his image of events might be clouded since he saw the grieving families. His reaction was far more reasoned and far less presumptuous and far less divisive.

I’m not on Donald’s case at all about this.

I have no problem at all with him saying he is troubled by the video. I think Trump is an honest man, and I like that.

If he sees something there that troubles him, and he wants to say it, then say it. I support that. It is possible that something bad happened here, and I do not believe that police should be above the laws that we must all obey.

But for myself personally, I want to take a clinical approach. I have a hard time trusting what I see and hear in America anymore. I want to move slowly.

I will also state for the record that, even as a former user of drugs and a former addict of a particular drug, I like and respect police men and women.

I am inclined to believe them in scenarios, but I also know that mistakes are made and that there are corrupt police who deserve justice.

So we will see what happens here with time. I don’t think volatile emotions are particularly useful or helpful in matters such as these, so I am simply going to leave those aside.

Was the cop ordering him to stop? Did he reach into the window of his car right before he was shot?

So, if police procedure says it's okay to shoot somebody who was reaching into their car... then that settles it, doesn't it. No prosecutor will charge the officer.

Question at this point is whether we as a society will continue to accept this as a death sentence. Then again, did he remove a firearm? Apparently there is no video so this will not advance the discussion.

I’m not a huge fan of Donald Trump but he has a right to and should give his opinion as he would inevitably be asked anyway.

From viewing the video I would tend to agree with his assessment....it looks like a rare bad shoot.

Donald doesn’t have much of a window of opportunity here (pun on the possible situation at the shooting?).

For Donald to promise to look at this could be not only wise, but a political masterstroke. Things like this could boost his share of the “black vote” to levels undreamed of, and none of it from promising anything unseemly. As far as I am concerned, I say “Go Donald Go” because he could be more of a uniter than Barack Obama ever proved to be (Barack Obama is a divider).

We generally accept that some things will be passed over by the legal system (I say legal system, not justice system, just to be brutally frank about it). Civil settlements might be the best practical thing in some cases. But that doesn’t mean such things can’t be addressed morally or spiritually. It needs to go beyond the money.

It sounded like pandering to me; as were the *questions*.

I love the Donald, and understand why he did it. So all is good.

It could have been a mistake, if it turns out that, as Crump is claiming that “enhanced videos” show, the car window was closed. (These are not falsified, but amplify information that might otherwise be invisible to the naked eye seeing the video. This is how the wounds on Zimmerman’s head, in the Trayvon incident, were also revealed from media.) No danger existed of the subject reaching into the car with a closed window. But again could the officers on the scene themselves see that it was closed? They may report or claim that they couldn’t. Perhaps lighting conditions were such that it was not possible.

Again... this could have been a mistake. It deserves deep investigation because of the responsibility that should go along with a license to kill.

The local news I've heard is that the guy had been in prison for 9 years and just got out in May. There's more to this story than what's been told so far.

THIS is the Tulsa story that should have gotten national attention: Two black thugs murder random white joggers in cold-blooded execution (my title)

I thought Donald was VERY reasonable in his statements in addition to the fact that not only is he concerned, but the rest of us are, as well.

Many of us know or are family members of past Cops, and we remember the stories of how cops could be on the force for their entire working lives, and never draw a gun. Many of us remember a time when drawing a gun was a very extreme and last resort, much less firing it.

Back then, people in general were more restrained in their words, attitudes and actions than they are today. The lack of personal restraint does put LEO on edge. Quite a few cops have been killed and injured as well.

Lack of ‘virtue’ and self discipline hurts absolutely everyone. We all raise up from the grassroots. We ARE they who become cops, doctors, politicians, teachers, ditch diggers and criminals. I think somehow the pressure on society as to what constitutes decency needs to return. In general, people are like sheep in that most tend to follow, and few are leaders. Therefore, they do tend to respond to societies expectations.

I the general atmosphere in our country is ‘anything goes’, then we’re going to see an increase in harmful behaviors.

Moms and Dads, you have kids. You’ve got to instill that sense of principle and decency BEFORE they even go to kindergarten as well as helping them to practice and polish those lessons in the years later. You have to know what they’re saying and doing when they think you aren’t looking so that you CAN catch the bad stuff in the bud and nip it, as well as promote and reward the good you learn about. If YOU don’t know right from wrong, then you can’t teach your kids, and you become part of the problem.

Situational ethics is pathetic. Some things simply have to be black and white in those formative years ..ie right or wrong and what can we do better next time around. And make sure there IS a next time around so you can reinforce those hugely important lessons.

Educators know that those kids are only with you a couple of hours a day which gives them much greater opportunity to usurp your efforts. Usurping parental efforts has been going on for a very long time, now. There’s a ton of history about that very thing, how it’s done, and why. Hunt it down.

TAKE the responsibility. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and America wasn’t torn down over night. But it has to begin somewhere, so let it begin at home, with YOU. YOU are the example, YOU are ‘society’. Fix it.

I think it is interesting that just about ALL of these cases involve a criminal with a long criminal history. Nearly all of these cases can be avoided by simply following the officer’s commands. Cops do get shot and killed. I will give the officers the presumption of innocence until proven otherwise.

There are alterior motives at work in this media narrative and I call it a narrative because they never report these shootings when it’s a white, or hispanic, or asian involved. They want a federalized gestapo style police force and the icing on the cake is dividing the races so blacks vote D.
