If the cops doing stadium security all decide to call out sick, millions of TVs will tune in to see "Game Cancelled". There is no way they proceed with a game under those circumstances. So the NFL will lose millions and people will want to know why the game was scuttled. It would be a disaster for the league of epic proportions in every sense: public relations, money, and reputation. And that's the league, the TEAM would be in an even worse state.
And all this with no "boycott by millions of viewers" required. Just some cops who are fed up with being called killers by pampered millionaire athletes.

Colin should see a pink slip
There is an unspoken demand that sports be apolitical
If hired players want to bring politics to the field, I’d rather watch a movie. Bye Bye sponsors.

Lets do the numbers:
The Alton Sterling and Philando Castile shootings have caused an uproar among leftists because they fuel their narrative that racist white police officers are hunting down innocent black men. But the statistics brought to light by the superb work of Heather Mac Donald, the Thomas W. Smith Fellow at the Manhattan Institute and a contributing editor of City Journal. tell a different story.
Cops killed nearly twice as many whites as blacks in 2015. According to data compiled by The Washington Post, 50 percent of the victims of fatal police shootings were white, while 26 percent were black. The majority of these victims had a gun or “were armed or otherwise threatening the officer with potentially lethal force,” according to Mac Donald in a speech at Hillsdale College.
Some may argue that these statistics are evidence of racist treatment toward blacks, since whites consist of 62 percent of the population and blacks make up 13 percent of the population. But as Mac Donald writes in The Wall Street Journal, 2009 statistics from the Bureau of Justice Statistics reveal that blacks were charged with 62 percent of robberies, 57 percent of murders and 45 percent of assaults in the 75 biggest counties in the country, despite only comprising roughly 15 percent of the population in these counties.

California crowd?
There are many different California crowds. One of
them includes more FReepers than from any other state.

I have suggested from day one of this (here in a VANITY thread) that we need to boycott the sponsors.
When the NFL and their money train feel the pinch, they’ll crack the whip.
They regulate what players wear, drugs allowed, supplements, etc. etc. They can’t tell them to stand or stay home? Sure they can.
BOYCOTT is how we can win this.
If FReepers would join me by sending an additional 10% of what they have already donated this FReep-a-thon, we would end the FReep-a-thon today
How about it FReepers? Do you have a few minutes to spare?

someone said on another thread to write it in their contract along with no drugs, etc.
I say, suspend these non-Americans — let them watch the game in the locker room.

This will haunt him for the rest of his sorry and hopefully short life. No, I want him to live a long life so that he has plenty of time to reflect on how his stupidity ended his NFL career.
That said, I hope he gets sacked often in the time he has left.

the quaterback's act of defiance spread to Oakland, where Seahawks defensive back Jeremy Lane sat on the bench during the anthem. Lane told reporters that he sat to support Kaepernick, and that hed told nobody he was planning to do that.
Sounds like he's now gaining support from his fellow game players. That's it for me, the only football I'm watching from here on out will be on Saturdays, college game day.
