The U.S. Department of Agriculture is spending nearly $1 million to teach refugees how to farm.
New grants announced last week include two projects in Idaho and Kansas to cultivate the next generation of farmers by helping refugees get land leases to start their own farms.

I can't believe they actually used a photo of a cotton farm for this report.

They should just tap the welfare and food stamp rolls and get some money back. Another totally asinine program destined to fail. You don't think any of these refugees are here because they want to work, do you?

Isn’t a land lease essentially a form of share cropping?

Just about. My dad’s father was a share cropper in Clinton South Carolina in the late 1880-1890 time frame. Dad was born in 1914 - got all the way through the 5th grade until his daddy put him to work in field.

The ‘original’ stoop labor here in the US (except maybe tobacco and possibly rice).
The saying “tall cotton” meant less stooping. It also has a connotation with respect to relieving oneself in as in “....in tall cotton.”
I’d guess that’s why momma and daddy had the kids picking. They probably went faster - no stooping.

And, they’ll be paid handsomely for not growing more crops than their neighbors.

Obama seeding the flyover country of America with Sharia law; halal foods; and folks who do not assimilate but want us to assimilate to them.
Pay a cropduster to salt their fields, Roman style.
Start raising pigs in the adjoining areas, if possible.
How are these folks going to influence the local town government operations????

Muslim refugees gaining control of our food supply - under the radar, acre by acre...
Nope - don’t see any risk to the general population there.

I was just reading about that yesterday. Forcing liberals into conservative areas to sway the vote. That is the bottom line.
