PSYCHO?!

I had to check what site I was on. I wondered if some undersea cables got crossed and I found myself on a Michael Springer something-or-other.

I do not suggest that it is a plus. The only point is that there are still potential conservatives in both parties; potential leftists in both parties; etc.

When major new figures appear, you often see a major shift of waking intellects from one party to the other.

Thus when the monetary quack Bryan won the support of what had been a very Conservative Democratic Party under Grover Cleveland, a few Democratic Conservatives supported a fragment of their Party, but most rallied to the Republican McKinley. You had another major shift based on ideological factors, with the FDR shift from relatively Conservative Democrat to radical New Dealer (actually almost a cousin to the German National Socialist Party, if you compare some of the innovations that both applied.) And, while Goldwater started a major flow of Conservative Democrats into the Republican Party, you really did not see the full throttle shift until Reagan.

Trump will now draw in many Democrats, who for the first time will become philosophically aroused by realization that the America they took for granted is about to die, if we do not find some way to deal with a quarter century of betrayal.

I used to be a rat, as my moniker indicates. Yet I spent my saturday morning banging on doors, trying to convince people to vote for DJT. How many FReepers or registered members of the gop have done that in the last month?

I’d cut the guy some slack.

Much of the indictment of "King George" in the Declaration Of Independence, was for things that he allowed the elected Parliament to do. It was actually a repudiation of a facet of globalism--in the sense of meddling by a distant bureaucracy in the daily affairs of people quite capable of managing their own affairs in their own way.

Absolutely zero slack for anyone that is a registered member of today’s democrat party. Given Trump’s background he may just pick a dem. We shall see.

He’s tough on terror, but I want to know about Flynn’s conservative credentials. If something happens to Trump after Jan. 20, it’s President Flynn. What kind of Supreme Court justices would he pick? Is he for limited government and states’ rights?

A while back when Ben Carson was searching for VP candidates to place on Trump’s list for consideration, he told that press that Trump might consider a Democrat for VP. Very soon afterwards, Trump said in a speech that he would definitely not pick a Democrat. I thought that maybe he was a little annoyed or at least baffled at Carson saying that.

Of course, he could have changed his mind since then, especially for someone who is “a fierce critic of President Obama,” but I doubt it. Personally I think the Trump camp keeps throwing names out there to stir up more free publicity.

I understand everything. You need to stop reading Politico. Donald J. Trump is the Republican nominee and will be officially nominated in short order and with little or no resistance at the Convention. Any thoughts to the contrary are just naïve.

In your wildest dreams why would you think putting a Democrat on the Republican ticket in any way furthers the cause of taking back the country from the uniparty elites? If Trump dropped dead a Democrat would be President.

DJT hasn’t got the foggiest idea of how Congress makes sausage which means he needs an experienced legislator or former legislator to help shepherd his legislative agenda through Congress so that it gets spit out onto his desk in some palatable form that he can sign into law.

If he wants to put Flynn at DOD fine by me. Not VP. No Dems on the ticket. Its insane to even think about.

Grant was a Democrat, voted for Democrats and specifically voted against Republican Fremont.

Um, try again, but don’t let mere facts stand in your way. Oh, Ike didn’t declare as a Republican until well after the war.

” Ike didn’t declare as a Republican until well after the war.”

On the other side of that coin Colin Powell didn’t declare as a Democrat til after he was appointed Secretary of State by Bush. :-)

Flynn was fired as the head of the DIA after he criticized and/or spoke about radical Islam. Obama didn’t like it.

I think it is stupid to pick a registered Democrat to be the VP selection of the Republican Party. There has to be a reason he is a Democrat, so what happens if something happens to Trump (he is 70, after all)?

With that said, does anyone believe that a person who would know Trump's thinking would be talking to the Washington Post?

“Yeah, it worked so well with Admiral Stockdale.

At least Stockdale had been a Republican.

Yikes!”

That is the problem. How well will he do under the questioning of the press? How well would he do in the debates? To many possible pitfalls.

I would much prefer a Retired LTC, by the name of West, even though he spelt my name wrong. Most officers are at their peak at the LTC and Col level, after that, it’s mostly desk work and politics.

Flynn better choice for Homeland Security. Flynn knows mudslimes, but Sherriff Clark is more rounded, better VP pick.

Eisenhower, a mediocrity. .................... Really? Patton’s boss? He was greater than all of them, considering how large the country was and the kid of war we were faced with. IKE was the right man at the right time, if only there was another one like him around today, you wouldn’t have to worry about Hillary.
