What Happened To Integrity?

When government officials assume office, we hear a lot about their “great integrity” and “high character.”

Maybe the beltway press is working from a different dictionary, but in my 15 years in Washington, I've yet to see it.

When was the last time a high-ranking government official resigned in protest or disgust? That's not a rhetorical question.

Peter Edelman, a top Health and Human Services bureaucrat, resigned when President Clinton signed welfare reform in the mid-‘90s. But no one in the Clinton administration batted an eye when the president lied to his cabinet officials about his affair with Monica Lewinsky, then sent them to tell that lie to the media on his behalf.

Before that, it may well go back to the “Saturday Night Massacre,” when Attorney General Elliot Richardson and Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus resigned after refusing to follow President Nixon’s order to fire special prosecutor Archibald Cox in the Watergate probe.

On Tuesday, FBI Director James Comey laid out a convincing case against Hillary Clinton violating US law in her email scandal, only to end it by saying, “Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statute . . . our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.”

So far, there is no outrage at the FBI. No one has resigned. Why not? Either the investigators involved in this don’t believe the strong case Comey laid out, or no one cares.

What constitutes a “reasonable prosecutor”? The head of the FBI is a former prosecutor, but he is not a psychic. Where does this standard come from? Since Comey refused to answer any questions after his statement, who knows?

But we’ve been told all along Comey is a man of “high integrity” and “great character.” If he thinks laws were violated, why is he not for pressing the case?

There used to be a difference between being “famous” and “infamous.” There no longer is. There used to be people of integrity in government. There no longer are.

When Comey said he and his team “cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts,” he should have looked a little harder. He should have looked to the case of Bryan Nishimura, a Naval reservist who served in Afghanistan in 2007 and 2008.

Nishimura was sentenced to two years probation and assessed a $7,500 fine because he “caused the materials to be downloaded and stored on his personal, unclassified electronic devices and storage media. He carried such classified materials on his unauthorized media when he traveled off-base in Afghanistan and, ultimately, carried those materials back to the United States at the end of his deployment. In the United States, Nishimura continued to maintain the information on unclassified systems in unauthorized locations, and copied the materials onto at least one additional unauthorized and unclassified system.”

Ultimately Nishimura’s actions came to light “when he admitted to Navy personnel that he had handled classified materials inappropriately.”

Yes, he admitted it.

Moreover, the investigation into Nishimura “did not reveal evidence that Nishimura intended to distribute classified information to unauthorized personnel.”

Any of that sound familiar? Any of that seem like it might fit the case against Hillary Clinton?

No one thinks Hillary set up her multiple private servers to aid foreign enemies of the United States. She did it because she wanted to conduct her business in a way no one could monitor. Nishimura may or may not have “intended” to violate laws for handling classified material, but Hillary Clinton surely did by setting it up so the only way to communicate with her electronically was outside a government-approved and secured method.

No reasonable person can conclude the secretary of state can function for long without receiving classified information. That’s the nature of the job. Yet Hillary, to borrow a phrase from domestic terrorist and close friend of President Obama Bill Ayers, is “guilty as sin, and free as a bird.”

And no one has resigned in protest; no one has spoken out in disagreement. So either Comey is right, or there are no people of integrity left in government. There’s more evidence for the latter than the former.

By the way, in case you haven’t heard of Bryan Nishimura before, as it would appear Director Comey hasn’t, you can read about him in this press release from last year on the FBI’s own website, where all those quotes came from. Too bad Comey couldn’t find any case like it anywhere.

If the boss tells you to do something you feel is wrong, you tell him. If he fires you, sayonara.

Unfortunately, with the clintons and bammy, it’s not so simple. Vince Foster. Ron Brown.

They made John Roberts lose his integrity over bammycare.

In my fondest dream, the Grand Court of the Guillotine, millions upon millions strong would surround the White House, the Department of Justice, the FBI, the CIA and NSA with a yellow crime scene tape so large it could be read from 5000 ft. above.

Every employee would then be hauled off to appropriate incarceration to await trial. Punishment would be meted out on the Mall in DC.

“Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statute . . . our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.”

Then we need an unreasonable prosecutor!

In order to enrich herself and her bogus foundation.

What happened to the mass resignations I heard so much about? Is that happening today?

You know, I think that's coming, and it will make the Reign of Terror look like a picnic.

What you say is necessary. However, we are not organized and are leaderless. Trump's verbiage is a step in the right direction but not nearly strong enough.

This is an interesting take from an earlier thread”

To: kabar
“An indictment of Hillary would have been a diaster for the Dems.”

yeah, but the FBI doesn’t indict, the DoJ does or at least convenes a grand jury. All the FBI can do is recommend an indictment, and then the DoJ sits on it forever with “we’re reviewing the case”, meanwhile eveyone in the the FedGov claiming no further information can be given out because the case is being “actively reviewed”.

Comey got out in front of Lynch and short-circuited the cover up. He had only one shot at saying his peace, and then he would have had to shut up; now he has the opportunity to go before Congress and divulge even more information “under questioning”, something that wouldn’t have been possible if the whole thing had been handed over to Lynch “for further review”.

Their house of cards is built on a wall with a foundation that has finite proportions and size. Even the wall which is largely the wealth and holding of the most wealthy cannot support the needs of the House of Cards forever.

And with each day, each stinking traitorous act like those of Comey et al in that government, the will and resolve of the people that hold the foundation together is coming apart and crumbling. Left to their own evil and selfish aims, these tyrants think the manna goes on forever. IT PATENTLY DOES NOT. Eventually there will be a reckoning, and they will lose their heads.

Comey stated.....”our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case.”.........

Knowing that there would NEVER be a “reasonable” prosecutor under the odumbo/Lynch jurisdiction, Comey just threw in the towel.

Is there possibility that sometime in the future, should Trump be POTUS, there might be hope for another go at the brass ring to hang that f.A. bitch. She has gotten away with breaking every law in this land up to and including murder (even though she may never have personally pulled the trigger). Time to make her accountable.

You know, rights, brouhaha’s and uprisings begin at the drop of a hat for minority groups - always has and always will. We will see more of it when the EBTs don’t get charged up, BUT! But we will see a groundswell the likes of which this country has never seen when the government is forced to confiscate wealth (in whatever form -IRAs, pensions, SS and the like) just to keep the EBT and entitlement flowing. They will HAVE to. Once that happens this entire country goes lawless and its citizenry become rebels. That is what will happen, and the tyrants will get their due.

IF she isn’t elected in November (from my keyboard to God’s ears), Obama will pardon her for any past ‘transgressions’ so Trump can’t bring her up on charges. That’s a big If though, knowing the voter fraud that the Dems have perfected. I sure hope Trump is on top of the ‘irregularities’ in the voting machines or our country is done.
