Republican Donald Trump is using part of this week to try out some of his potential vice presidential running mates as he seeks to make his choice in time for the Republican National Convention July 18-21.

Republicans close to the campaign say Trump and his team are considering announcing his running mate pick next week ahead of the convention to try to get maximum media buzz from the move...

Trump met privately on Tuesday with one possible vice presidential candidate, U.S. Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee, at Trump Tower in New York. The two were to travel together to a Trump rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday, Trump is to be joined for an event in Cincinnati by Newt Gingrich, a former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives who Trump is considering for the No. 2 position. Gingrich has been a close Trump adviser and is well regarded at Trump Tower.

Male U.S. Senators need to be tall enough to ride the Tilt-A-Whirl and the Ferris Wheel.

It’s never been more important that he choose someone competent, honest, and electable.

The country is in deep s***.

I know Corker is poison on FR but I’ll always remember him grilling the UAW head Bob King during the auto bailout talks. Did a nice job.

I was flipping through radio channels getting a feel for Hillary news when I came to Savage. He said Jodi should be VP and if Trump selects Newt he will stay home.

I watched Chaffetz tonight on news, loved how he replied about Hillary. He said he talked with Comey about the investigation and wants more answers to questions, etc.

I like Chaffetz.

Did he do a good job with the Iran deal? General motors still got the loan, despite his performance.

Any republican/conservative who stays home for this election is, quite plainly, insane.

You’re right of course on Iran.

But the auto bailout was locked in...Obama had a Dem House and Senate for those two years. No Republican was going to stop it.

Savage several dozen times in last few months goes wobbly wobble about Trump, and then he’s back. Usually when he thinks when Trump is finished after some nonsense, but always later he didn’t exactly get it correct about the situations.

I understand that Newt is smart and more than able. The simple truth is that the media, the dems and the nevertrumps will be going after his personal life. Mr Trump needs someone else.
I do not know who would be the best pick. I just have to believe he will pick the person he has determined to be. If it is Newt, then, so be it.

jmho

Corker would be a weak choice. How would Trump justify it? "At least I didn't pick Lamar!"

A Tennessee Republican (retired Air Force/Vietnam Veteran, very anti-Hillary) told me today that he would not vote for Trump if he had Corker as his running mate.

I can’t believe that Trump would even go through a charade of considering people like Christie or Corker.

I agree, folks stayed home last time, we got Obama and he got Hillary off; then we Lynch, who got Hillary off.

Not to mention Supreme Court Judges at risk with Hillary.

Yeah, I don’t care much for him. I did listen for a few minutes to Dem radio station, they were shocked she wasn’t charged.
