Want a Gun-Free Zone? Tennessee Says That’s on You: LITERALLY
Bearing Arms ^ | June 28, 2016 | Jenn Jacques

As of July 1, if a handgun carry permit holder in Tennessee is injured, suffers bodily injury or death, incurs economic loss or expense, property damage or any other compensable loss on a property posted as a gun-free zone, they can sue the person or entity who stripped them of their right to self defense.

It seems that this only applies to private property, not government designated gun free zones. Still, it's a start.

I run into Charlie Fog,
Blacked my eye and he kicked my dog,
My doggie turned to me and he said,
Better head back to Tennessee Jed.

One should ask what the Constitutional basis might be for a government to declare any location a gun free zone.

No person or entity can strip me of my right to self defense.

There you go.....we need to drill that idea into the heads of all our children so they are educated and logical and won’t accept slavery (illegality of judges/courts/system).

Natural Rights only come from God in the USA-—not man or the State. Natural Rights from God precedes ALL governments....and that is embedded in our Constitution and they are unalienable (Never can be GIVEN AWAY or TAKEN AWAY)-—the Supreme Law of the Land. SCOTUS or some irrational, vice-promoting (slaver) judge has NO POWER to remove our Natural Rights——their man-made-up irrational “laws” are NOT law and never can be “law”—they are “null and void”. (Nuremberg Trials/John Marshall)

Only “Just Law” can be Law. Justice is the Queen of Virtue in Western Civ and only based on traditional Christian Ethics. Hindu justice/Voo-Doo “justice” or Satan’s justice is not applicable—rejected by the Founders, since they use others as a means to an end (in evil, irrational, unnatural ways).

Only Right Reason according to Natural Law is acceptable in a Just Law-—not irrational, unnatural, evil, nihilism or Positive Law which rejects God’s Laws. We need to return our “Justice” System to Constitutional Laws. It has been hijacked by Marxism (anti-Natural Law/God) which is antithetical to our Constitution and Natural Rights from God only.

Excellent idea! People/governments which establish gun free zones are responsible for providing effective security -— and for compensating anyone harmed when they don’t do so!

OUTSTANDING!

While it doesn’t cover political sites it is a start.

If an individual usurps my God-given right of self-protection he MUST be held responsible for any damages or injuries his action causes.

You want to posture then you will have to bear the expense of that posturing.

As for it applying universally it ain’t going to happen. Too much case law saying that the various level of government are exempt from paying for their actions. But, that might change over time as private individuals who are large political supporters have to pay for their actions and the politican they support doesn’t.

That's always my question. If you carry concealed, like I do, it's concealed! How do they know? They don't! Again, it's concealed!

Some folks like to try to compare gun free zones to places like Fed buildings.

Several important differences:

1) The building have armed guards 24/7.
2) The people working there have gone through background checks and may have clearances as well.
3) Visitors are screened, no one can just walk in.

The only thing I see missing is there should be a procedure to check in guns and the onus is on the facility to make sure they don’t wind up missing.

Unfortunately, many fed places say you can’t even have guns in the car. Should get rid of that.

If necessary for security, I can see some restrictions but the ones requesting the restrictions need to guarantee and provide for personal security since you have removed your own.

In other news, the CCW permit boondoggle has no end in sight. IMHO, CCW holders are almost as much of a problem as gun-grabbers. Both groups embrace and support the government infringement of 2A rights. In a perfect USA, expensive discretionary self defense permits would be for felons on probation not law abiding citizens.
