What will a suspension do for a Vox editor who urged anti-Trump riots?
Washington Post ^ | June 3, 2016 | Erik Wemple

Posted on 06/04/2016 12:09:43 PM PDT by lowbridge

“On Thursday night, Emmett Rensin, the deputy editor of Vox’s first person section, sent a series of tweets that, among other things, urged people to riot if Donald Trump comes to their town,” wrote Ezra Klein, Vox’s editor in chief, in a statement posted this afternoon. “We at Vox do not take institutional positions on most questions, and we encourage our writers to debate and disagree. But direct encouragement of riots crosses a line between expressing a contrary opinion and directly encouraging dangerous, illegal activity. We welcome a variety of viewpoints, but we do not condone writing that could put others in danger.”

The tweets, continued Klein, violated the site’s standards, and a suspension of unspecified duration is now in place.

The disciplinary move may well satisfy critics who hammered Rensin for his thoughts on civil unrest. And that’s about it.

A little context to this episode is in order. Yesterday at a Trump rally in San Jose, protesters and supporters of the presumptive Republican nominee clashed.

-snip

In light of all that, we have at hand another pointless journalism suspension, a knee-jerk response to public condemnation that this blog has blasted time and again. We emailed Klein with this question: “Is the suspension designed to provoke a rethinking of [Rensin’s] worldview, or to let him know that there’ll be penalties for expressing it?”

Ezra Klein was the head of the Journolist coordinated list server some years back. They have decided the violence is hurting the Hildybeast if this is his point of view.

Ya think? I thought the San Jose Mayor said it was Trump’s fault.

Ezra Klein is a dirtbag, who probably believes the same things as Rensin. He’s just doing this to protect VOX, that’s all, not because he objects to rioting at Trump events.

Klein was the organizer behind Journ0list back in 2007-08, made up of 300 bloggers and “reporters” who were actively campaigning for 0bama. They are the ones who savaged Palin in 2008, and hounded her for years afterwards, and are even still doing it, although scaled down.

He thinks it will help him in a future that looks like this:

Multiplied by hundreds of millions.

And he'll be one of the ones that will get to write it.

Thank you for reminding us exactly who and what "Ezra Klein" (and 'VOX') is. Yahoo News was using VOX as a default go-to source of political news for quite a while recently.

And thank you as well for reviving what many have forgotten; collusion by Leftist, pro-Dem "Journ-O-Listers" aka gangsters to subvert the truth and "news." That most still have jobs working as propaganda termites to help take down conservative America is a disgrace.

quote:

In 1921 Hitler set up a group within the NSDAP that would protect his political meetings from attacks by rivals. It gave a military look, feel and discipline to the party. This group was known as the ‘stormtroopers’ (Sturm Abteilung – SA) or ‘Brownshirts’.

Many members of the SA were former soldiers unemployed since the end of the war. As the SA grew in size, rather than simply protecting Hitler and Nazi meetings from opponents, they began to disrupt the meetings of rival political groups.

As the Nazis gained power through democratic means, the SA gained a reputation as a well-organised gang of violent thugs. This frightened and put many off Nazism, but others were attracted by the organisation and discipline of a uniformed group.

Too many of us have forgotten just how brutal the 2008 feeding frenzy against Palin was. We are now upset that Katie Couric put in an 8 second pause in her anti-gun “documentary.” Back in 2008, Couric interviewed Palin for 9 hours over a 3 day period, and edited it down to less than 30 minutes. They sometimes spliced and diced a Couric question, and then spliced in a Palin answer to a different question, all in an effort to make Palin look like a loon.

The 0bama campaign hired thousands of people using multiple screen names to post thousands of really nasty comments about McCain and Palin on every story related to the election.

What will a suspension do for a Vox editor

If you suspend him from the Skywalk in the Grand Canyon, it will probably do quite a bit

"What will a suspension do for a Vox editor who urged anti-Trump riots?

Give him time off to go and directly participate in those riots rather than merely inciting them?
