Louisville, Ky. — Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke's message to those attending Friday's NRA-ILA Leadership Forum was in part cautionary: Be wary of "freedom-loathing gun-haters."
"Don't be misled by phony sloganeering like 'common sense gun legislation' or 'smart guns,'" he said. "There is nothing smart about what they are up to, as you and I both know. None of this crap will reduce violence, suicides or mass shootings."
The crowd erupted in applause several times during Clarke's talk, which was one in a nearly four-hour-long series of speeches from pro-gun heavyweights and politicians like presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump and U.S. Sen. Rand Paul.

With Mr. Trump and U.S. Senator Paul as indicators of the protection of 2nd Amendment protection, I will choose the outright declaration of Mr. Trump’s exercising his right for self-preservation, over the example of U.S. Sen. Paul’s filibustering and traveling about with an empty belt and paid guards, worrying about his Senatorial self-preservation.
The good sheriff deserves a prominent position in a Trump administration. Maybe head of ATF.

Clarke is a man of action and law enforcement runs through his veins. He probably wouldn’t be interested in what is largely a ceremonial position of little to no impact.
Maybe he could be appointed as an anti-crime czar?

The left is pumping young people full of their anti-self defense lies. The NRA should be doing a lot of outreach to young people and public service announcements.
Trump should put David Clarke in charge of Homeland Security or the FBI!
