Evangelicals raise hell over Trump's VP search (Politico Propaganda Alert)

Donald Trump’s primary run left him with few friends among evangelical leaders, who are now weighing sitting out the general election entirely. But there is one way, they say, to win them back: picking a vice presidential candidate socially conservative enough to compensate for Trump’s many heresies.

Several of the country’s top socially conservative leaders, from Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council to Penny Nance of Concerned Women for America, said Trump’s choice of running mate would be among the most important factors in deciding whether to activate their extensive grass-roots networks on the real estate billionaire’s behalf.

“Who’s he going to surround himself with? The first indication is going to be vice presidential choice,” said Bob Vander Plaats, who served as Ted Cruz’s national co-chairman and is revered in Iowa evangelical circles.

The title is very misleading. All across the country Trump won the evangelical vote going away. Who cares about the evangelical “leaders” like Tony Perkins who endorsed Cruz.

Way to try to alienate your fellow conservatives.
- - - - - - - -
After Barack Obama, anyone who would support a candidate who would seal their immigration records, not produce the Consular record that shows that they were registered as an American when born abroad, and be an actual Canadian citizen up until after they started running for President, after two years in the Senate, is not about conserving the Constitution of the United States of America.

In addition, Ted Cruz presented himself as an outsider, when in fact he was part of the Bush Crime family from before his birth. Since it has been established by a photo in the Warren Report, and the testimony of Lee Harvey Oswald’s girl friend, that Rafael Cruz was in fact part of the GHWB-run Clay Shaw CIA “Fair Play for Cuba” operation in New Orleans, and left for Canada when Jim Garrison started his investigation of Clay Shaw’s involvement with the Kennedy Assassination.

If they are saying, “Pick Cruz!” well, there’s no way that’s going to happen.
Trump doesn’t like or trust him now, and as Trump has pointed out, Cruz remains ineligible for that job too. Trump will continue to keep his own counsel.

Cruz should go back to Texas and start doing the job he’s getting paid to do, and stop the nefarious plotting to win a ‘consolation prize.’
Ted’s naked ambition is astonishing. Sorry Cruzers, but it’s the truth.

Ann Coulter suggested the Kansas Secretary of State. He apparently wrote E verify and is strong on borders and immigration

Way too much BS in the article to bother refuting. Nonetheless, why would these so-called conservative evangelicals wish to see Hillary President rather than Trump?

Don’t know anything about him. A known name from a swing state if possible, would be a better choice. Hunter from California, for instance. like father, like son.

“Cruzers are still losers!”

As an early and consistent Trump supporter I find your continued attacks on former Cruz supporters totally counterproductive.

Our esteemed owner has several times in the last couple of weeks posted that the primary battles are in the past and it is past time to stop the insults here and unify to defeat Hillary.

Why do you feel it necessary to continue to pointless antagonize people here, especially since the great majority of former Cruz supporters here have publicly said they’ll vote for Trump?

The GOP-e thought that they could spit in the face of social conservatives by running Mitt Romney, the Father of Homosexual Marriage in America, and still win. Didn’t happen. Now Trump supporters think that Mr. Two Corinthians can ignore social conservatives and still win.

I don’t see this ending well.

As a former Cruz supporter myself, I can tell you with certainty that former Cruz supporters are not Cruzers, nor are they losers. If you are still a Cruz supporter at this point, then you are a Cruzer as well as a loser.

Ted Cruz, himself, continues to be the biggest Cruzer and loser. Hopefully, he will come around and realize that there is life after being a failed Bush minion. After all, Ted was only the splinter for the "consistent conservatives" that would allow JEB! to win.

Part of the Trump Revolution is that we don't ignore the lessons of the recent past in some orgy of PC togetherness. A Snake is still a Snake.

This is so silly. Trump has taken the evangelical vote by huge margins already. Don’t these people know that? How stupid are they?

Are they trying to insert Cruz into the mix? If they are, they’re clueless. True evangelicals can spot a phony a mile away and Cruz is in-your-face phony when it comes to evangelicalism. He’s a cultist, pure and simple (maybe not so pure). Evangelicals didn’t want him in the primaries. They certainly won’t want his name on the ticket in the general election.

"Evangelicals" - "Why allow a flawed man when we can open the door wide for EVIL to traipse on in?"

Ever notice how the "holier than thou" have such strong connections to pure evil?

picking a vice presidential candidate socially conservative enough to compensate for Trump’s many heresies.

Don't worry. No Evangelical worth his salt believes that's possible.

Funny the Evangelical “leaders” don’t support Trumo...but the Evangelical “followers” are supporting him. He is winning in that demographic.

"Trump has taken the evangelical vote by huge margins already. Don’t these people know that?"

Speaking as a true evangelical myself .....

e·van·gel·i·calˌēvanˈjelək(ə)l
adjective: evangelical
1.of or according to the teaching of the gospel or the Christian religion.
synonyms: scriptural, biblical
2. Evangelical Christianity, or Evangelical Protestantism [a] is a worldwide, transdenominational movement within Protestant Christianity maintaining that the essence of the gospel consists in the doctrine of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ's atonement.
It amazes me that so many people do not have any clue what it means to be an evangelical Christian. Some associate it with anyone who is a "religious fundamentalist" of any sect or belief.... that is far from the truth. I understand that Roman Catholics accuse us of being heretics, again far from the truth. Some associate it with preachers like Joel Osteen who preach the false gospel of prosperity, but the true evangelical bases beliefs in the Holy Scriptures which clearly show this movement to be dangerous and repugnant.
