That’s true. And he remained silent or added to it in some instances.
McCain is not worthy of the office.
That’s putting it nicely. (believe me)

It was his own staff that was behind much of it, as I recall.
If I recall correctly it was indeed. Or to be more specific the staff he ‘borrowed’ from Mitt Romney that did their best to destroy Sarah Palin.

McCain currently has a half of one point lead on his Democrat challenger.

Maybe I have a bad memory, but I don’t remember Jonny staunchly defending her the last 8 years or so.

Oh he must have just been too upset to defend her.
His staff and his own daughter added gas to the fire, and he did nothing to stop it!

The proof that Palin is NOT supporting McCain will be her absence from Arizona in the coming weeks.

I never could understand he would choose her if he was going to sideline her and why he would sabotage her.

I think he chose her because his campaign was at a standstill and his people thought he needed a bone to throw at conservatives. The problem was she was connecting with voters in a way he couldn’t. He seemed angry at her popularity and now I think it was the message she had that he absolutely did not agree with.

McCain could jump on the anti-Trump bandwagon... where all the ‘cool Establishment’ guys are... and he didn’t do that... Now he’s defending Sarah.
I think we can cut him some slack here...

You are right about it hurting Palin to endorse Ward. It was very wishful thinking.

He and his team treated her like garbage, practical blaming the loss on her.

Personal stuff aside, McCain was idiotic on a political level by not maximizing her benefit. I don't think he intended to actually win... it was time for a black president. Palin brought new energy to his campaign, and I think that scared him. He didn't want to accidentally win, so he took steps to make sure she didn't help his ticket too much.
