Sanders: Obama not far enough on the Palestinians' side

Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has recently had a spate of anti-Israel comments, and on Sunday he continued the streak as he said US President Barack Obama has not been far enough on the Palestinians' side.

Video

In an interview with George Stephanopoulos of ABC, Sanders was asked about his debate with frontrunner Hillary Clinton last Thursday, in which he attacked Israel for taking "disproportionate" measures in defending itself from Hamas terrorists in 2014 Operation Protective Edge.

Stephanopoulos showed a clip from the debate in which Sanders called for the US to take an "evenhanded" approach vis-a-vis Israel and the Palestinians, and then asked, "do you (see) that kind of evenhanded approach under President Obama?"

"I think he’s done much better than his predecessors, but I still think we have a ways to go," Sanders replied, indicating that he views Obama as being too supportive of Israel.

That statement comes despite the open hostility Obama has been criticized for showing Israel on several key occasions, such as during Protective Edge when he canceled a routine Hellfire missile shipment in the middle of the war and ordered greater scrutiny on future weapons transfers to Israel.

Sanders continued discussing his comments in the debate, saying, "I was not criticizing President Obama; I was criticizing (former) Secretary (of State) Clinton. She gave a speech to AIPAC. It was a long speech. There was only one sentence I believe that even mentioned the Palestinians.”

In her AIPAC speech, Clinton slammed the Palestinian leadership for actively inciting terrorism and paying rewards to the families of terrorists. However, her stance on the conflict has been viewed as troubled by many as well - in her latest debate with Sanders she called for a two-state solution establishing a Palestinian state in Judea...

I say let’s send them all to Krapistan and see how they like it there

It's shocking to me that an adult who has been alive since 1948, has had access to the news reports, has seen the blatant acts of terrorism, is none the less against israel and on the Arab's side.

The Arabs have had since 1948 to better their lives, to create as open and decent a society as Israel has. Instead it decided to concentrate on hatred and destruction.

One side is good.

One side is evil.

Isreal isn't perfect. The Arab side isn't 100% bad. The breakdown none the less reveals a upscale nation on one side, and a despicable mess on the other.

What society sends in pre double digit aged children as suicide bombers? What society sends it's women in to kill indiscriminately?

What kind of a society sends in these people to target restaurants, theaters, or shopping plazas? What kind of nation sends in these people to blow up buses with children on them?

You don't have to be a Christian to know which society serves Satan and which serves the Christian God.

Bernie is an example of the unacceptable people who make up the Left in the United States and around the world.

Those types of people should never hold power. Bernie and Hillary need to be jettisoned from power for the remainder of their lives.

I'll say this as well. A whole lot of Republicans need to be jettisoned from power solely for not standing up to Obama and other people like this.

To that end.

Some Hollywood elite, other Limosine Socialits and liberal elites, promise to flee the country if a real American ever wins the presidency instead of one of their communist/socialist idols.

They have that option because there are already many countries exactly like the socialist/liberal Utopia they want America to become.

They have a wide choice of countries that already fit their simplistic liberal fantasies to a T.

But American patriots and conservatives have nowhere else to go.

There are no other countries like America to flee to if the communist/socialist/muslim loving liberals complete their promised transformation of America.

As Ronald Regan said, America is “the last best hope of man on earth”.

We can’t let the communists, one-worlders and liberal fools destroy it any further.

BERNIE IS WHAT WE CALLED A SELF-LOATHING JEW (back in the day) because so many of the leftist Jews in NY were pro-Palestinian. I am an American, and Irish/Catholic; yet I was more pro-Israeli than most of my supposedly ‘Jewish’ neighbors.

I still don’t understand the mindset...

If Sanders really believes Israel used disproportionate force against the Palestinians, then he must also believe America used disproportionate force against the Japanese in WWII.

Against terrorists, there is no such thing as disproportionate force.

I don’t understand that either.

Especially when you can retrace history and see why Israel exists today, it boggles the mind that someone could not defend it.

Arabs can go just about anywhere in the Middle-East and reside with like minded people.

Israel doesn’t have that option as a general rule.

The Jewish people need a homeland of their own. I’ll always defend that.

The relative handful of articles critical of Bernie have such a look-and-feel of talking points, that it's obvious they originate with the Clinton campaign. There are no substantial differences between the two Demwits when it comes to OPEC, Israel, ISIS, or Iran.

I tried to listen to Priebus & some other Republican elites
on tv this morning as they tried to explain why the
“delegates” would “choose” the Republican candidate & not
the voters. Confusing. Meant to be, I guess. IF they keep
on and run Kasich or even Cruz against Hitler-y; I doubt
either of them can do anything with her & maybe that’s the
way they want it.

There is one huge difference between them, though. Hillary has blood on her hands. She needs to be humiliated publicly for her feckless, disgusting behavior in Libya. Then she needs to be jailed. No better way to humiliate her than have her lose to Les Nessman of Vermont, three-time winner of the commie-flakeball award. As for jail, the Justice Department will see to that in January.
