On average, for US made manufactured goods, labor accounts for between 5-8% of the retail price. So at most 10% inflation and that is being generous.

The fact you saved a couple of hundred dollars on a car is really just a drop in the bucket compared to the numerous ways you end up paying for this anemic hollowed out economy.

There you go trying to use logic on Free Traitors™, that doesn't work.

It’s better to have jobs and afford some goods, than not to have jobs and not be able to afford any goods, even though they are cheap.

Did the oil refinery get built out there? Are they still going to do it with lower prices. Love the area, BTW, gorgeous.

“Just pointing out the silly notion of the GOPe being destroyed by Trump..”

Yah, it’s not called balance of power for nothin’, eh?

Rush had a good point though:

“what you have to never forget is that however you define this group of people that we call the establishment, they are out for self-preservation first, second, third, fourth, and on down the line. The Republican Party doesn’t exist to beat the Democrats. There are a lot of other things they have to do first before they even think about that. And the first one, self-preservation, holding onto what they think they’ve earned and achieved, holding onto their power, holding onto their precious positions, holding onto their networks, holding onto their connections, that’s objective number one. Not beating Hillary.”

So, why is DT running? Same reason, self preservation. His livelihood. His businesses, his family. So if it’s ok for DT, why isn’t it ok for politicians? The GOP didn’t elect NObama. If we want the GOPe out, the voter has to do it. Period.

I ask after how a situation is doing all the time.
As for the statue. There is a very large push to reinstall the statue. That is what he was referring.

.
You’ve brought yourself down to Trump’s level to defend the indefensible.

Can you imagine a Trump press secretary having to cover for gaffes like that one a dozen times a day!

Obama’s already does.

I think you take me for someone who gives a good God Damn about what anyone else thinks. I don't.

That being said. I voted for Cruz in Ohio to no avail. He lost to BOTH Trump and Kasich. He is not going to win the nomination. He is all but mathematically eliminated from the nomination by winning on the first ballot and if he doesn't win on the first ballot, the establishment will never allow him to be the nominee. EVER! They hate him worse than poison.

Trump will likely win the nomination on the first ballot by Either winning outright or cajoling, IE buying any needed delegates as he will be within a 100 delegates.

It doesn't matter to me. I would vote for anyone to keep Hillary out of the White House. Trump isn't even close to the worst person running right now. He isn't in the top 50%.

Amazing so many Freepers who honor and revere the constitution and the principles held within, they fail to understand the lunacy of the idea that somehow by electing Trump the GOPe will disappear (?) be destroyed (?) or some other configuration of that idea...

Exactly what powers inherent within the constitution they think gives Trump the ability to determine who the people who vote for their congressman ?

I'm mad as hell at DC elites as well, but understand it's "We the People" are the ones responsible to change the culture in DC...

American companies that make steel - winners, selected by Trump.

American companies that use steel - losers, selected by Trump.

Going by the experience of the last five cars I have owned, I think I’d be getting a much better quality product if I bought steel made by Mexicans than steel made by unionized Americans.

“Who needs an industrial base? It’s not like the Russians, Indians and Chinese are building up their militaries....”

Yes, but we can make movies. Take that!

What worries me is that the manufacturing “ecosystem” is gone, and would take DECADES to (re?) build. It isn’t even a matter of rebuilding, it would basically be starting over from nearly scratch. It would be hard to build anything here economically when 90% of the supply chain is more than 5,000 miles away - a classic chicken/egg problem.

The three cars in my driveway are: a Subaru built in Indiana, a Nissan built in Japan, and a BMW built in South Carolina.

I'll buy a quality car no matter where it's built, which is why I'll never buy a car at a UAW union plant.
