Our new motto: Strength through moral equivalence
When John Kerry toured the Hiroshima Peace Memorial and Museum this week before meeting foreign ministers at the G-7 Summit, Reuters reports that he had witnessed haunting displays [of] photographs of badly burned victims, the tattered and stained clothes they wore and statues depicting them with flesh melting from their limbs.
It is a stunning display. It is a gut-wrenching display, explained Kerry. It is a reminder of the depth of the obligation every one of us in public life carries to create and pursue a world free from nuclear weapons.
Iran exempted, of course.
But, really, is this the lesson of Hiroshima? That those in public life have an obligation to do away with nuclear weapons? A lot of people might argue that existence of those weapons have saved lives from broader world conflicts and conventional warfare. That includes ending the Second World War sooner.

don’t mean to make your head explode Yoda, but I worked with a manager who was afraid to tell her children that their two grandfathers were war criminals because of the atom bomb.
I was going to start arguing about how many lives were saved...but she was so far gone I said the heck with it.
I had too many other fights with liberals that were at least semi reachable. Had to pick and choose.
Do you mean Bataan (Death March)? Bhutan is north of India.
God help us if Zer0 becomes U.N. Secretary-General. He will have the West criminally charged for war crimes and trumped up charges of human rights violations. For example, the United States will be charged for the excessive incarceration of blacks. The sales of dangerous drugs will be declared a human right. The United States will be forced to pay slave reparations to the entire Black population. Trump’s efforts at fair trade will be opposed as illegal.
I agree somewhat with your statement, but with a different twist. Politically speaking, Kerry & the dems are the enemy. Of course I dislike the enemy. But the GOP are supposed to be the opposition party, keeping everything balanced. They are the traitors. I loath them more than the dems.
We, myself included, have been railing against the half breed alien for 7 1/2 years, to no avail. Congress and the Supreme Court can’t/won’t do anything to stop him. And it won’t end on January 20, 2017. He will stay in Versailles on the Potomac to take on the next administration, whoever wins.
My grandfather had survived being kamikazied at Okinawa. His ship, the Bunker Hill, was back at Bremerton being repaired for the bloody planned invasion of the Japanese home islands. The A-bombs meant that never came to pass and millions of Americans and Japanese did not have to die. Had he still been alive, I can only imagine what he would say about Kerry’s sniveling about those bombings.
Stopped the tenacious Japanese cold, didn’t it? Ought to publish the photos for all to see and heed.
There is literally no comparison to the service record of Kerry (jfk2) and the brave and courageous men I served with.
I was very embarrassed about his horrendous actions against the military after he punched his Get out of Nam free card.
I have a theory about liberals - Many of them have never known the saving grace of a loving Lord, and thus are terrified to die. Thus they project that fear onto anything that might cause their early demise.
How about we show some photos of the Japanese gassing the Chinese.
You know, kids who grew up in the 50s weren't all that distant from the events and most who have fathers that were in combat can recall the look their old man got when anyone asked them about the war. Up until the early sixties, my Dad would hop up at night screaming for someone to help him carry a guy who was badly burned and falling apart as my Dad tried to move him away from the fire or yelling at people to "shut the Eff up pass the GD ammo" and to ignore some sort of malfunction in the turret.
Given the chance, the Japanese would have gone down fighting hard with bricks and sticks if nothing else and the distinction between civilian and military would have vanished within days of the invasion.
Saving a few million lives may not mean much to people like Kerry who think killing a half million here and a quarter million there with conventional bombing is no big deal, but it had a great deal of meaning for those who know they survived and probably wouldn't have had there been an invasion of Japan.
Poor Japanese, their government bought atomic secrets and uranium from Nazis to use on us, practiced biological weapons on Chinese to use on us - we just beat them to the punch and punch we did. Game over.
My dad and millions of Americans lived beyond the war because Japanese died of nuclear radiation. I prefer it that way.
Now, the remaining are our ally - and Obama is not.
My father-in-law was slated to deploy to the Pacific after fighting in Europe.
Had he gone, my wife would probably never been born.
The Japanese were in this to the death, and Truman made the right decision.
Even after the first bomb, the Japanese were not willing to surrender, even to save their own people.
A second bomb convinced the Emperor to do the right thing.
We killed more people in the conventional firebombing of Tokyo on March 30, 1945 than we killed in two atomic blasts.
The atomic bombs saved a million American casualties, over five million Japanes deaths, and the destruction of Japan from happening.
As I have said since 1971—Fu#$ John Kerry, that traitor!!
Thanks for posting this

Where is KERRY’S compassion towards the ethnic cleansing of Christians in the Middle East. THAT, Mr. Kerry, is going on now. Where is your concern?
Two months wasn't enough time? We knew for about 2 YEARS before the commie bastard was elected how dangerously far left he was. He ran on "fundamentally transforming" the United States of America. We knew all about Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers, and many other of his deeply disturbing associations, plus his own prior comments and history. Stop making idiotic excuses for Trump. At best, the guy is a naive buffoon.
Thank goodness Jean Fraude Kerry made it impossible for Iran to get nukes.
Obama akbar!
