>>John Kasich (R-OH) said religious liberty laws that allow refusal of services based on sexual orientation...are unnecessary.

On the one point, he IS correct. The 1st makes these ‘laws’ redundant....IF we had/followed the Constitution.

Course, these days, that tattered old parchment is but a footnote in D.C. and on the campaign trail.

Guys,

In this country we have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. I, for one, would not refuse service to a gay person, but some people would and that’s their right. Now, if someone sets up shop across the street who is OK with serving gay people, that business might get more customers. That’s also OK.

There is much in the Civil Rights Act of 1965 that I like and respect. The government on every all level should never discriminate against anyone. With that said, individual people do have the right to discriminate, be idiots, be wonderful people, or be whatever. The marketplace of ideals will either reward them or punish them....which is how it should be. But, the Civil Rights act forces people to interact with people they may not agree with which is just wrong.

I know its PC to make a bar owner serve gay people and when he refuses, it makes the news. I would just love to see the Nazi Party (I’m picking an extreme example to make a point) insist on having their meetings at gay bar and claim a civil rights violation when they get refused. It’s the only way people will ever understand that we all have the right to associate with whomever we choose.

People bog down on the specifics of religious people not supporting the gay crowd. It’s the bigger picture we all have to keep in mind. Freedom works both ways.

At the very WORST, even if this accusation were true, liberals get to see what it looks like. They’ve been doing it since Methuselah was on training wheels.

However we’ve seen where this movement goes, including places they were swearing up and down a couple decades ago it would never go. To treat institutions of worship as though they were the property of the state (with the state being property of perverts) is just what they want.

No, the liberals don’t want the red flag raised that we have a virulent problem.

And you’d think that to homos it would be wonderful... now they can open bars that serve nobody BUT homos (or at least self proclaimed ones, assuming they don’t have to show proof). No more fuddy duddy straights pooping their parties.

This is not about refusing to sell someone a cupcake that’s on the shelf in your bakery. It’s about refusing to actively participate in preparing for a gay parody of what some devout Christians see as the most joyful religious sacrament in life - holy matrimony. I have known bakers who do wedding cakes, and they don’t make as much per hour for that as they would with more routine tasks. It pays well in dollars, but not when you consider that it’s a time-intensive task that requires creativity. Those I know do it out of love and as an opportunity for artistic expression.

Kasich doesn’t care about freedom, only following the current fad in the hope that it will bring him power. Being compelled to participate in an activity that violates your religious beliefs is reprehensible. It is an act of supreme evil. My personal hope is that those who abuse government power in support of this goal will eventually be held accountable.

18 U.S. Code § 242 - Deprivation of rights under color of law
Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution . . . shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

I’m okay with prosecuting the Gay Mafia thugs (those who sue and those who implement these draconian punishments in violation of the First Amendment) whenever the rule of law is restored, even two or three decades from now. They should eventually be locked up for the remainder of their malignant lives. They can look at pictures of their grandchildren from behind bars or visit through a glass window during visiting hours (oh, right, homosexuals won’t have grandchildren, so they’ll be alone in their final years, but that is okay so long as they are locked away from decent people). As for Kasich, this is not the only area where he sides with democrats instead with freedom.

- Kasich voted for the “Assault” Weapons Ban. https://grabien.com/file.php?id=53463 and as of last year did not regret that vote

- Kasich supported and implemented Obamacare’s Medicare expansion http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/john-kasich-bible-medicaid_us_56140a54e4b022a4ce5fb1e3

- Kasich supports Amnesty for illegals. http://www.ontheissues.org/John_Kasich.htm

- Kasich dismissively said Christian bakers should “bake the cupcake” and participate in a gay parody of the sacrament of marriage, even if it violates their religious beliefs. https://www.frcaction.org/updatearticle/20160225/kasich-pushes

- Kasich supports Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/john-kasich-id-consider-nominating-merrick-garland-supreme-court-election-2016/

That party actually despises Americans that work, pay taxes, go to church, believe in sovereignty, and have the unmitigated gall to expect that government give us service instead of bloated, bureaucratic COSTLY lies.

It loves those Americans that take their pound of flesh entitlements and do like they’re told, just like good little sheep.

These cases haven’t even come to a full First Amendment challenge anyhow. It’s possible the USSC, seeing the inevitable, will declare a protection for dedicated artistic works. Then Christian bakeries that use computer aided designs will declare them dedicated to certain religiously sanctioned purposes and that should be where the buck stops.

It’s a bother that such hoop jumping has to take place, but it still beats getting eaten by lions.

If this degenerate POS is anywhere on the presidential ticket, it will be a ticket that will not get my vote, under any circumstances. No Trump-Kasich, no Cruz-Kasich, no nothing Kasich.

The Washington Post story below is consistent with Wiki:

ABC also has reported Kasich is currently an Anglican:

Y'know, because equal protection clauses are unnecessary.

If Kasich is the nominee I will write in Trump. Don’t tell me that a vote for a write in would be a vote for Hillary because there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between Hillary and the mailman’s son, to paraphrase Pat Buchanan.

Chill out. Get over it.

Isn't that the story of the GOP over the past 8 years?

Don't like the GOP caving in to Obama on insane spending increases? Chill out. Get over it. There's nothing we can do.

Don't like the GOP's weak efforts to fight Obamacare? Chill out. Get over it. We can't do anything until we take the presidency?

Don't like court-imposed gay marriage? Chill out. Get over it. Its the law of the land now.

Don't like the efforts by gays to force religious Christians to work on gay weddings? Chill out. Get over it.
