Heh heh. He thinks we are a Democracy.

Thank you for posting something that isn’t about Cruz or Trump.

In other words, since most people never vote, we want to stuff the ballot boxes with Democratic votes by any means possible........

The LAST thing we want is mandatory voting for that very reason.

All it would take would be for some asswipe candidate to promise one million dollars for everyone.

Watch the people go out and vote.

And when it passes, then what?

Like you said, we have way too many cretins voting as it is.

And the parasites vote themselves lots and lots of money that I earned.

We think we have problems now?

You have to present at the voting station, but you don’t have to vote.

Seriously? You have to go? What happens if you don't?

North Korea imposes mandatory voting, for Dear Leader. Can’t imagine why he didn’t use that better example.

In my state, they are not allowed to tell you what party to vote for.

That being said, what they do is have a “voter encouragement” meeting.

That means, they get a list of who grabbed what primary ticket, and they give every member a copy of that list during union meetings.

Now, what they then say is “we see that Bob hasn’t registered to vote! We think it is important that he registers!” “It is important that we all have a voice!”

At the same time, the voter role call they hand out has listed exactly what ballot you chose. D, or R. There is no “I” ballot in Illinois.

I have been told (I cannot attend union meetings as I am an owner operator) that they will “accicentally:” point to you if you are an “R” primary chooser. You will stick out like a sore thumb anyway, but they will says something like “Oh, Peter here didn’t register to vote... Oh my mistake it says he’s listed as a Republican voter.. OK, sorry Peter, glad to know you registered, my mistake...” or some such nonsense.

In years past, you’d be lucky to leave the car lot with less than 2 flat tires (most cars carry 1 spare). This year is VERY very different. I see Trump stickers on helmets, toolboxes, bumpers, port-a-potties all over. This in Chicago. You know... COOK County!

The union bosses have to be going nuts.

The other sticker I see is Bernie, not as much though, but I have yet to see a Hillary! sticker anywhere on a job site. But.. that is who the union bosses are going to push. I haven’t heard an endorsement YET, but it’s coming (and it will never be an R, either Hillary! or Bernie).

I should have included North Korea where if you don’t vote and don’t vote the “right” way, you and your entire family is on the way to the prison camps and slow death.

Does Australia have mandatory ID checks?

Otherwise, a person can just pull the curtain closed behind himself, waste a couple of minutes, and then submit a blank ballot.

That's probably part of the plan. Once they have a lot of blank ballots "somebody" can mark them to get the result they want.

If voting was mandatory every blank should count as a "nobody" vote, so until you get a majority of the total ballots cast you don't get elected.

I have a difficult time voting. The choice of quality candidates creates that difficulty.

Mandatory voting, and all they get is a 70-80% turn out?

There are too many uninformed, unconcerned, ignorant and intellectually lazy people out there for that. There should be some sort of test to see if they even know who’s running, what the issues are and, most importantly, what they know about the Constitution.
