Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe has vetoed legislation he said would legalize discrimination against LGBT people.
The Democratic governor signed his veto of Senate Bill 41 Wednesday morning while on WTOP.
"We're not going to tolerate discrimination. Virginia will be open and welcoming," he said.

Discrimination is the basis of all sound judgment.
Notice how these hypocrite fascist leftists bemoan "preferring one viewpoint over all other viewpoints," while doing exactly that -- forcing their viewpoint, and their viewpoint ONLY, on everyone else.
That's one of the main fallacies of the anti-disrimination brainwashers -- in order to enforce their one-way, Orwellian dystopia, they must always discriminate against those who, they complain, are discriminatory.
In a supposedly free country, Christian confectioners should not be forced to pack anyone's fudge.
The moral of the story is that the best way to approach this (and any issue like it) is to just leave people, businesses, and organizations free to discriminate according to their just, natural preferences. Freedom of association means you don't have to hire me or let me in, and I don't have to work for you or join if I don't want to. NOTHING wrong with discrimination whatsoever, on any basis, or no basis at all.
So-called "liberalism" (which is actually not liberal at all) is a mental disorder.
With Liberals it's freedom of choice.
keep the faith we are getting better at organizing and taking action. Hopefully when the Trump/Cruz stuff settles down there will be lots of energy for advancing the conservative agenda.
We can't get all depressed again like after 2012
Not Moses - Abraham - doh! Sorry guys
Note the bias in the headline and in the first sentence:
Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe has vetoed legislation he said would legalize discrimination against LGBT people.
Instead of depicting the bill as a "freedom of religion or association or thought" bill, it's "discrimination against LGBT people."
McAuliffe has always been a slimey tool.

. . .and we can thank “Libertarian” Robert Sarvis for giving us Terry McAwful. . .
Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe has vetoed legislation he said would legalize discrimination against LGBT people.
By discriminating against Christians or others who do not share the meme of how normal the faggeaux amongst us are...all 20 of them...
Notice how it’s framed “discrimination against gays”
Not “protecting practice of Freedom of Religion, as guaranteed by the First Amendment”
Any Constitutional Amendment trumps any attempt to force people of faith to act in accordance with their faith
Just say “no”
I don’t want to hear any bitching from Rich Lowry and GOP
I don’t want to hear bitching from Louisianians about higher taxes and liberal practices. Thanks to unforgiving voters, we have a lousy democrat by the name of bel edwards running LA now. God help us.
The first amendment’s protections for freedom of assembly include for the purpose of commerce. As such, all transactions between private business and private individuals should be AGREEABLE to both parties. No party should be forced into a transaction that is disagreeable to either party.
Denying that freedom to an individual or business should require strict scrutiny standard of judicial review.
I agree. A private business should be free to refuse service to anyone for any reason. They should be free to hire or fire anyone they want to. The business owner is the one that invested their time and money. It doesn’t belong to the government or other freeloaders.
That all went out the window with the Civil Rights movement.
The Civil Rights movement ended all that. Whitey is now the slave of minorities who call all the shots according to their whims.
He’s a liberal democrat. I would expect nothing less than this full out assault on Christianity to come from the pen of this man.
However, forcing ministers or churches to marry folks who violate either the minister’s or the church’s beliefs is going to be an interesting court case.
I do not see how they win that case.
I do see them able to deny a minister the governmental document that allows them to ‘solemnize’ marriage licenses.
That, however, will result in weddings held with no involvement of the government whatsoever. Some have advocated for that, anyway. I see both positives and negatives in such a result in terms of the culture and the ongoing debate over religious freedom.
I never agreed with that. I don’t believe in discrimination in public areas and government/public facilities, but a private business is a different matter.
Moses did some good appealing so you’re too far off.
Follow the money. Terry McAuliffe takes money from Big Sodomy.
Make that....not too far off.
