Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz, campaigning in Utah, called Donald Trump's attacks on Mitt Romney Mormon affiliation "sad" and "disgraceful.''

"It was sad yesterday to see Donald Trump stand up in Utah and call into question Mitt Romney's faith," the Texas senator told reporters on Saturday after a rally in Draper ahead of the state's Republican nominating contest on March 22.

Romney saying that he is "repulsed" by the "racism, misogyny, bigotry, xenophobia, vulgarity and, most recently, threats and violence" associated with the real estate magnate’s candidacy, IS WHAT IS DESPICABLE!! and Cruz is likewise for attempting to make political hay out of this red herring. It means Cruz not only thinks he's so smart, he also believes we are SO DUMB!!

BTW, religious freedom DOES NOT mean we can't engage in the critique of another religion.

Cruz campaigned furiously in the South; he spent a wad of GOPe donations railing against the Washington cartel. Evangelicals saw through that ploy. Cruz/s strategy was a debacle. Fact is, Cruz is unable to draw the adoring crowds Trump does.

CRUZ DONORS---he/s inanced by the Washington Cartel he swears he/s running against.

Mormonism is not a “legitimate sect of Christian belief”.

Where exactly did I say it was ?

Since I didn't, you are putting words in my month...bad form

Ok, lets play semantics...

I say you embraced Catholicism...

Does this # 2 definition fit ?

em·brace əmˈbrās/ verb past tense: embraced; past participle: embraced
1. hold (someone) closely in one's arms, especially as a sign of affection. "Aunt Sophie embraced her warmly" synonyms: hug, take/hold in one's arms, hold, cuddle, clasp to one's bosom, clasp, squeeze, clutch; More
2. accept or support (a belief, theory, or change) willingly and enthusiastically. "besides traditional methods, artists are embracing new technology" synonyms: welcome, welcome with open arms, accept, take up, take to one's heart, adopt;

So you said Cruz embraced mormonism which is now proven to be a lie...

I was referring to the seven mountain sect, not mormonism....

Sorry Popman;
“legitimate sect of Christian belief” is a contradiction of terms.

After Iowa I stopped supporting cruz, because of how he was acting and what he was saying.

Three weeks ago all we ever heard was cruz is not the establishment, he is the outsider, and now his voters ignore how he is the establishment and how he lies.

“Why are folks still supporting and defending him?”

Because he is right!

Trump has NO business questioning ANYONE’S faith! Just because Trump doesn’t believe in God is no reason for him to attack those who do - be they Mormons, Baptists or anything else.

Interesting fact from the latest Reuters national poll: While Trump is at an all time high at 49.5% Cruz is far from his high. Seems the more Lyin Ted moves his lips the less people like him.

Would be willing to wager I could find, within 30 minutes, 30 different articles from 2012 curb-stomping Mormonism from the same Cruz'r Religion Forum ***** who are embracing & enabling Bishop Dullard & Joseph Smith right now.

In fact, I bet I could find 30 responses this year from the same ***** who besmirched wee Bishop Dullard right up to last week before he aligned with Cruz.

Trump’s demeaning of others religion does not win him votes. For example in the last Idaho poll only 29% said they would vote for him in November if he is the nominee. He can’t unify the party after all the personal attacks and unpresidential behavior.

Yep. The anti-Trumpers have come to stand for nothing except opposition to Trump. When you stand for nothing, you are nothing.

Nepotism is the term describing the placing of family or friends into postings by one of power or influence. More prevalent in the practice of small town politics, and as experienced, more a failing of liberal political enclaves.

"First of all it's not a cult in any shape or form by any definition...per Dr. Walter Martin"

Well, Dr. Walter Martin certainly believes that Mormonism is a cult.   (See, for a quick example, this Walter Martin web page on Mormonism, or do a quick search in "youtube" for "Dr. Walter Martin on Mormonism", and watch some of the many youtube videos that come up from that search.)

For Cruz to embrace Mormon Glenn Beck and Mormon Mitt Romney, and their various bizarre and peculiar prophecies and pronouncements about Cruz and his "mission", demonstrates (at the least) very poor judgment on the part of Ted Cruz.

In the Mormon's "Guide to the Scriptures", the Mormons say that "'Raphael' is an angel of the Lord who participated in the restoration of all things", so you might want to consider how some Mormons might be linking that Mormon belief somehow to the candidacy of "Rafael 'Ted' Cruz", and why Cruz is so publicly welcoming and embracing the support of those two crazy Mormon cultists.

I saw it, it was a joke that in another era would have been forgotten quickly. In this era it’s a minor scandal.

Questioning Trump’s religion has been routine here for months. Did you miss those thousand posts?

So now we can continue it since Trump questions everyone else's?
