I’ve heard there are lots of gangs in Gary, and also in Indianapolis. Apparently the crimes in those places are enough to tip the balance of the black homicide rate for the entire state.
It seems that Baltimore and DC would have a higher rate, but then they are not ‘states.’
And I don’t think very many people are shot with knives, but who knows.
Most of those murders are in larger cuties where Democrats rule. It seems to happen in more conservative States. Louisville has had an increase in black homicides itself and it always has a Democrat mayor.

The Gary thugs are fleeing increased Assets being thrown at drug and violent crimes in the NWI, and coming to Indianapolis, where they think they are safer, and can get lost in the crowd.
It is blacks killing blacks... and everyone else. The majority of those murders are either NE or E Indy (42nd and Post) with some stragglers near Washington or Michigan Aves on the W side.
Don’s Guns is infamous for straw purchases but lately the little maggots are spreading out and burglarizing gun shops in Anderson and other smaller towns.
It’s very difficult to keep reading after you mention Violence Policy Center.
When we travel to Virginiat we purposely head south from the Twin Cities to avoid Madison/Chicago/Gary. It’s really simple, what do we want for scenery, wall to wall liberals killing each other off, or the corn fields of Iowa?
It adds a couple hours to the trip, but very relaxing.

Lets do some math. There are 6.6 million people in Indiana. That’s 66 one hundred thousands.
213/66=3.23, or a rate of 3.23/100,000, not the 34.15/100,000 the article states.
This leads me to believe that it’s 34.15/100,000 of the BLACK population.
The TOTAL murders in Indiana in 2012 were 307. Therefore, about 70% of the murders were committed by less than 10% of the population.
This is clarified in a different article in the Star. “The national black homicide rate in 2012 was 18.03 victims per 100,000 people, while the overall national homicide rate was 4.50 victims per 100,000 people, according to the study.”
The black crime rate in the northwest corner, Chicago metropolitan area is ridiculous and the wave is spreading to Indianapolis
If so, I'd say Indiana has found a harmonic balance we should all aim for.
