Cruz bolsters case as the anti-Trump with big wins as Rubio fades
The Washington Examiner ^ | March 5, 2016 | Philip Klein with Ryan Lovelace, Al Weaver and Curt Mills

Posted on 03/05/2016 11:35:43 PM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

Sen. Ted Cruz's two big wins on Saturday bolstered his case that he is the strongest candidate to stop Donald Trump's march toward the Republican nomination, as Sen. Marco Rubio's support faded.

Cruz crushed Trump in Kansas, upset the businessman in Maine, and provided Trump with a tougher than expected challenges in Kentucky and Louisiana.

The results come as an anti-Trump movement began to galvanize conservative activists as well as party elites. Trump came under fire in a Thursday debate, was the subject of blistering attack speech from 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney, has been at the receiving end of millions in new negative ad spending, and has received increased scrutiny for his business record and shifting positions on immigration.

Whether any of these factors impacted these results, or whether the results point to the early stages of a Trump fall will keep political experts guessing. The results could merely represent more evidence of his underperformance in caucus states given his lack of traditional organization.

But what's undeniable is that Rubio came in a distant third in Kansas and fourth place in Maine. In Kentucky, he was well behind Cruz and Trump and also battling Kasich for third, prompting Trump to call on Rubio to drop out.

Though the Kansas victory might have been written off on its own given that the state has a large evangelical presence and was won by Rick Santorum four years ago, Cruz's impressive win in Maine pointed toward a broader level of support. Cruz had 46 percent of the vote, to 33 percent for Trump, 12 percent for Kasich, and eight percent for Rubio.

Cruz, a Texas conservative, was seen an ideologically and geographically poor fit for the historically moderate Maine Republican Party. Trump had dominated Cruz in neighboring New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Trump has now lost caucuses — where organization is crucial — in Iowa, Alaska, Minnesota, Maine and Kansas.

The Maine loss also came despite the fact that Trump recently gained the support of Maine Gov. Paul LePage.

The more wins by non-Trump candidates, the greater the likelihood of a contested convention in which no candidates would come out of the primaries with a majority of delegates. Cruz has recently dismissed the prospect of a contested convention as potentially toxic to his party's fortunes, however, and is arguing he can win outright if those who want to stop Trump rally around him.

But it will be more difficult for any candidate to achieve the 1,237 delegates required to capture the nomination if the field remains crowded. Rubio and Kasich both have justified staying in the race because their large winner-take-all home states of Florida and Ohio vote on March 15.

On Saturday, Cruz's campaign announced the opening of 10 offices in Florida, vowing to take the state seriously.

"God bless Kansas and God bless Maine!" Cruz said in rallying supporters in Idaho, a state that votes on Tuesday. "The scream you hear, the howl that comes from Washington, D.C., is utter terror at what we the people are doing together."

Rubio dismissed poor showings from Saturday night's results, arguing that other candidates had built in advantages going in and that he will do better in bigger states that are winner-take-all delegate wise.

Reacting to the results, Rubio tried to argue that he was still gaining delegates and insisted that the remaining states are more favorable to him.

"The states that voted tonight are, quite frankly, some of the states that my opponents do better in, and I realized that going in," Rubio said. "We're soon going to be in a winner-take-all process, and larger states, like Florida, and in other places like that, and that's where we feel very confident as we move forward."

Editor's note: An earlier version of this story declared Trump the comfortable winner in Lousiana, based on AP projections. But the race tightened since Trump was declared the winner.

We know that’s not Crustorum because it has muscle tone in the arms and isn’t wearing virginal cowboy boots.

Another article claiming that Cruz joins the anti-Trump movement. He now replaces Rubio in the Romney-GOPe movement.

I don’t think that this strategy is going to work for Cruz. He should go back to being an Anti Establishment candidate instead of being the Anti-Trump candidate. The numbers do not add up.

They don’t add up... because hey, we should take seriously a candidate who beat the front-runner in states previously won by Huckabee/Santorum?

I don’t think so.

As we move away from the caucuses and into winner take all primaries, Cruz will have major issues. New England will be a wasteland for Cruz in primaries, and let’s face it, Maine had a total of 18,000 votes, or about the size of a county in New York, Maryland, or New Jersey.

Michigan? Florida? Ha.

it’s a funny coincidence you posted this picture; we’re envisioning the same prize fight but from opposite perspectives - I’d just posted the following 10 minutes prior:

I wouldn’t count your chickens, etc...

the last debate, as the one before, Cruz and Rubio played good cop/bad cop using Trump as a punching bag.

But in their enthusiasm to give it to the billionaire, they have thrown everything in the bag at Trump. Their pantry of insults and innuendo is empty. They have nothing left. Like a fighter that burns out in round 3.

And Trump is still standing.

And a new debate is in 5 days.

Stupid-”conservatives” , that’s an oxymore , are the best tool for the libtards .
They don’t realize that the world and US changed since the founding fathers and that’s NOT ENOUGH to come with your religion on your suit and your flag .

“Primum vivere”. You have to struggle for life FIRST , secure borders , and fight islamisation today .
In that context the tougher fighter is NECESSARY .

In addition Cruz would be slaughtered by MSM . Trump is a way better puncher ( unlike the Romney Mc Cain establishment connection ) .

Bad and pathetic try Cincinnatus . I remind that YOU and the romney crowd , along with the racist obamaboots ( black and leftist activists , are part of the anti-TRUMP movement .... Assume your choices and stop speaking of “”CONSERVATIVE””

Proof of Ted Cruz Vote Fraud in Kansas and Maine

The Lame Cherry prefaces this with FACTS.

Fact 1 is Donald Trump is polling in the 40 to 50% range nationally.

Fact 2 is the reason there is RECORD VOTE TURN OUT is due to Trump voters voting.

Fact 3 is that in EVERY poll, Ted Cruz has a 17 to 27 point ceiling.

Now review the below data which I will prepare you for in this reality. In 2012 in Kansas, 30,000 Kansans participated in the election to give Rick Santorum the state. Yet in 2016 Ted Cruz somehow garnered 35,000 votes ALONE.

Somehow, just like in Texas and Oklahoma and Alaska, with record numbers of voters voting for Donald Trump, thee entire lions share is somehow ending up in Ted Cruz’s column.

I will remind you that BEFORE PEOPLE VOTED that exit polling was released showing Ted Cruz was taking 50% of the vote........and according to the conditioning propaganda, Ted Cruz walks away with 48% of the vote?
That is electronic vote fraud, pure and simple!

Now let us review Maine, which is for some reason not releasing county by county statistics in another Cruz vote fraud.

In 2012, 6000 Maine citizens voted for Ron Paul, the very candidate who trashed Ted Cruz as a damned fraud, and yet in 2016 with Donald Trump record turn out of new voters, here is Ted Cruz again, TAKING MORE VOTES IN 8500 THAN WERE CAST IN MAINE EVER BEFORE.

Again with the Trump surge, 18,200 votes were apparently cast in Maine, two and a half times more voters than every before......and here is Ted Cruz again wiping out everyone in the votes counted, when his numbers are no where near this in the national or any other state elections.

I will repeat in Ted Cruz just yesterday was barely polling 28% in Kansas and the next day he has surged 20 PERCENT in the polls?

That is VOTE FRAUD!!!

There is a reality taking place in these Cruz numbers, which do not match polling, trends or the reality of the other states or elections.

Ted Cruz is selectively being allowed to steal states from Donald Trump in the POLiters theft of the GOP Primary from the clear victor in Donald Trump.

Vote results are being released before they could be known. The votes do not match up to known polling. What can be known from all of this is the simple fact that somehow Ted Cruz is taking the numbers of Donald Trump and putting his name on it.

This scam is blatant and glaring. Cruz is not being allowed to steal every election or everyone would figure it out that he is involved in election theft. Instead Cruz the insider is being allowed to tamper with select states in this e vote fraud, which has little now to do with vote flipping, but it appears that the software is registering numbers for Donald Trump and Cruz’s name is being put on the results.

The entire election process has been overthrown and Mr. Trump is going to have to start making plans for introducing his 40 million loaded guns for his candidacy.

I have great apprehension in this, as there appears in inquiry an assassination horizon event pointing to Chicago. This appears to fit a psychological scenario to confuse the electorate in these strange Cruz “victories” and then to remove Mr. Trump.

I know absolutely nothing of this except through inquiry into the matrix and I will post more later in an attempt to diffuse what is building, but the evidence is certain, in Ted Booger Cruz used electronic vote fraud to steal Kansas and Maine from Donald Trump.

The results came in too fast and too complete, and they do not match past numbers in voting, nor match the surge for Donald Trump.

Ted Cruz is a criminal vote fraud reality.

I demand the Cruz Boogers to answer honestly in do they really think Ted Cruz is generating this kind of vote surge when it has all been Donald Trump? Face the fact that Ted Cruz is stealing this election and you Boogers are thee most unAmerican of criminals equal to Birther Hussein Obama.

Ted Cruz was booed and walked out on at CPAC today, by Conservatives. This is the foreigner who is bringing in record numbers of voters? Not on your lives.
