Donald Trump's campaign contributions to Democrats and Republicans
Politifact ^ | July 9, 2015 | Will Cabannis

Posted on 03/03/2016 4:27:23 PM PST by true believer forever

We went to two authoritative databases of campaign finance data to examine Ferguson’s numbers: OpenSecrets.org, to find federal donations, and FollowtheMoney.org, for state-level donations.

Trump has actually been relatively evenhanded in doling out cash to the two parties, but since 1989, he’s contributed over $350,000 more to Republicans running for federal and state offices, campaign finance records show.

Data from the Federal Election Commission and state elections offices provided by the two websites show that Trump has given $584,850 to Democrats and $961,140 to the GOP over the last 26 years.

The difference in donations is almost entirely captured in Trump’s recent giving. Since 2012, Trump has donated $463,450 to Republicans and just $3,500 to Democrats (California Attorney General Kamala Harris and New York Assemblyman Michael Benedetto).

We’ve included those numbers below, with links to records of the individual contributions.

Trump probably felt he new Reid, even though he is a devil, on how he would act with regards to Trump’s business interest in Las Vegas. Maybe Trump could not get a read on Sharron Angle and how she would act with regard to said business.

Maybe he hedged his bet with Reid on this one. At the same time he donated to Reid, he was blasting Obama and was a big donor to Mitt Romney, which turned out to be a waste of his money.

Trump did donate to Cruz in 2012 and supported and donated to McCain in 08 and Romney in 2012.

from the article: Since 2012, Trump has donated $463,450 to Republicans and just $3,500 to Democrats (California Attorney General Kamala Harris and New York Assemblyman Michael Benedetto). That's a big big difference in my box.

On the other hand, we could see President Cruz being the loneliest man in the world, sitting alone in the Oval Office with ‘his pen’ and no legislation that he proposes on his desk to sign, and ‘his phone’ calls that nobody will take.

Gridlock in DC is good, but not when we have massive damage to repair.

There will always be deals.
Thats the way of power.
Even if one is the Tsar and Autocrat of all Russia.
That, or someone or other, eventually, gets the guillotine, firing squad, pistol in back of the head, etc.

Yawn...

It's a pretty big yawn to me, too, but a lot of people seem to think it is significant and keep talking about it.

If it is, it sures makes everything a lot clearer, doesn't it? Everyone should have a look at it, Darrel Crate was Romney's chief financial officer in 2012. Oh, no.

I actually think Levin is pretty smart, he has just turned into a real propagandist for Cruz, and that surprised me.

And I also read in the last few years, not sure which, he gave 350,000 to the Republican Governor's Association. I've made it a personal goal to dispel as many of the lies about Trump that I can.

I was listening tonight and was really surprised. This Cruz thing has been going on for awhile now but tonight he took off on Trump supporters whether they would support Cruz as the nominee, and I surely would and most I know would, but Levin was talking about Trump voters like they were idiots and low lifes. Really sad.

No surprise. Cruz has really ruined this primary all over the place from TV, radio, internet and life in general. Cruz supporters make people go crazy. Cruz is ruining America.

Yes, I’m sure your knowledge of business, ahem, “trumps” mine - where’s your MBA from, Trump University?

Please remind me why a US senator would be involved in any way in regulation of Trump’s casino? Or why contributions to a democrat senator would be required when the mayor of Las Vegas in 2010 was an independent? Or how major Republican donor Sheldon Adelson somehow manages to run a Las Vegas casino without ever contributing to democrats?

I’ll wait...
