Donald Trump’s winning over of Republican lawmakers continues, as Florida Gov. Rick Scott will endorse him, Fox News reported.

The report was made on the air by Bret Baier of Fox News and subsequently confirmed by CBS’s Major Garrett.

“I have a lot of respect for Rick Scott. I don’t know about his endorsement,” Mr. Trump said.

If true there must be a lot of deal making going on in the background.

The perfect way to do this is let Romney do his little speech tomorrow and immediately bring Scott out to take the oxygen out of Romney’s claim. He did it more than once when Bush was giving his concession speeches.

There had been rumors that Scott would be at Trump’s press conference last night, and endorse him there. Then there were rumors that Scott had been pressured by the establishment not to endorse Trump.

We should just take a wait and see attitude towards this.

I am happy for this. I wish Rubio would run for Governor in 2018. He might be able to fix the mess he made of distrust.

Rick Scott is a total liberal and has been a disappointment. He has gone along with everything Obama has asked, even though Floridians would have supported opposition.

How the hell can you say he is liberal?

Scott to us here has been a pretty decent Gov, not great, but sure as hell better than the past and what could happen in the future.

Frankly, the same can be said about 99% of the Republican Congress as well.

What has this Congress stopped obama from doing (to us)? Nothing meaningful that I can remember.

Still, this endorsement is significant, particularly since in FL there are no prizes for second place.

he got rid of tenure, been decent on gun rights, etc too.

I have heard him called names, but never liberal before.

My sister who is a conservative, Christian ( despite what some will profess) lives in Florida and thinks Scott has done a great job for the state.

In addition he didn’t vote Coker or TPA for Obama. ( right I know he couldn’t have just showing how liberal others have been.)

He’s gone along with Obama on everything from destruction of academic standards to Obamacare. He is quiet, since he’s not a very attractive personality or media presence, but he’s certainly not conservative and obviously is very tied in with Obamacare because of his health industry connections.

Florida’s economy is actually running on what Bush built or continued from previous governors. As much as you may hate him, he was good on keeping things going here even though the collapse hit hard. Some of these things, Scott has had the good sense not to change.

The other orange one, Crist, tried to change things but he had only one term because he was so liberal that he offended GOPers here. I believe he’s changed parties and is now a Dem. Scott was elected because it was thought he was going to bring back or reinforce some Bush era policies.

But this means he won’t. The more liberal they are, the more likely they are to support Trump.
