Asked on Monday if Islamic State terrorists are carrying out a campaign of genocide against Syria's Christians, White House Spokesman Josh Earnest said the word genocide "involves a very specific legal determination that has, at this point, not been reached."
He condemned the terrorists' "willingness to target religious minorities, including Christians."
Earnest noted that the Obama administration has long expressed its concerns over ISIS/ISIL's "slaughter" of religious minorities in Iraq and Syria. ...

During the Balkan wars, the killing was two-sided: Orthodox Christian Serbs killed Muslim Bosnians and Kosovars, and Muslim militias were killing Serbs. Hillary Clinton called this situation a "genocide" of Muslims, and was mostly responsible for her husband's decision to send US forces to intervene in that war.
In contrast, the killing in Syria is single-sided: Sunni militias are killing Christians. Christians are not killing Sunni Muslims. Yet to Obama (and no doubt Hillary as well), this isn't really genocide.

What do you mean? The Obama Administration is not calling the slaughter of whatever Jews remain within Syria “genocide” either. Earnest doesn’t even deign to name the Jews, lumping them under that “religious minorities” umbrella that he also notes they refuse to say are victims of genocide.
