The downside is that the medical profession and the government will do their best to keep the afflicted alive as long as possible so they can spread the disease to the other half of gay black men and as many others as possible. Rather than exterminate the disease by allowing those with it to die as fast as possible, we are acting as if HIV were a protected species by doing everything we can do to help it spread.

Since the disease is not curable, and the only way to detect it is by taking a test once having contracted it, how would access to tests or treatments affect the infection rate?
And this laughably unscientific pronouncement:

Which puts the epidemiological cart before the horse. How did a "greater prevalence of HIV" come to exist in the first place if not for: increased promiscuity among AA's and a higher incidence of IV drug use?
Honestly? We are now at the disgraceful point where scientists must pretend that not only do plain facts and statistical inferences no longer operate, but that we actually DENY them for the sake of not offending a be-knighted minority. This corruption makes the CDC complicit in their deaths. But no one's feelings are hurt. That's the important thing.
If true, that would have been a tremendously important clue in understanding the virus and the disease. Was it ever studied? Of course not, because every medical professional in the field knew quite well that it was nonsense. The disease was the same, the human physiology was the same. What was different was a far higher incidence of risky behavior. [CCR5 receptor defect was not discovered as a result of this clue, by the way.]

Ya a Republican will be blamed for AIDS and not doing enough to fight AIDS.
I still bitterly remember how Reagan was blamed for AIDS. He was blamed for not having compassion for AIDS victims. He was savaged by liberals for not doing enough R & D work with pharmaceuticals to come up with AIDS drugs.
Reagan was blamed for not making AIDS a higher priority among diseases being researched by NIH and other government agencies.
Yet Reagan did NOT once compel anyone to perform the risky activities which spread HIV and AIDS. Yet he got the blame for the spread of the disease. This logic only makes sense to liberals.
Of course there was no blame for the bath house owner who could have closed down the bathhouses and somewhat halted the spread.
