Trump didn't explain what might have changed in the last 15 years that would prevent the United States from adopting Canadian-style health care.

During the first GOP debate, moderator Bret Baier said to Donald Trump, “15 years ago, you called yourself a liberal on health care. You were for a single-payer system, a Canadian-style system.”

What might have been a good idea (I don’t think it was) isn’t always a good idea years later.
Outside of that as someone posted already: It doesn’t matter. If the GOPe/UniParty is not destroyed we lose the country. Period.
This looks like a distorted take on Trump. Trump wanting the government to assure that all can have health care is not the same as Trump wanting the government to pay for everybody’s. A mix of public and private plans is, of course, implied here. I don’t know why the calumny.

Let me go on the record. Single payer would be better than RobertsCare. It is so bad that there is nowhere to go but up - and that is what I take Trump to mean. But I guess if you stuff your ears with Cruzwax you can’t hear anything but his own genius and how everyone else is wrong.

How come noone asks Ted Cruz this question. I guess he’d let them die in the streets.
Then there is the inevitable failure point when anything is centralized at that big of a scale. Quality of care goes down, corruption and unaccountability come in, etc. If "failure" is measured by reduction in standard of care, all efforts using government coercion and centralization will result in failure.
Does it really matter to Trump’s cult if Ted proved positively that Banana Don is a brazen liar? No. This liar will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Right.
What a joke Cruz is.
It pains me to see Cruz, my former number 2 choice, reduced to glaringly desperate-looking outbursts with obscure stuff someone on his staff dug up from yesteryear; obviously assuming and praying THAT kind of stuff will change anyone’s mind.
And to watch him as he does it, with those pre-programmed, animatronic-looking hand gestures and body movements that look so artificial. That stuff makes his whole approach look artificial. Apparently, that’s what they teach in debate class, and in how to make a courtroom legal arguement.

There would be no Obamacare if it wasn’t for Cruz putting his buddy Roberts on the Supreme Court. Cruz can not be trusted to select the next Supreme Court justice. The good news is, over the next few weeks, Cruz will win somewhere between 0 and 1 state in the primaries.
