In a video posted to YouTube Friday, Syrian rebels appear to have filmed themselves firing for the first time a U.S.-made TOW anti-tank missile at a Russian T-90 tank.
According to the video’s caption, the TOW strike occurred in the Syrian town of Sheikh Aqil, a suburb just northwest of Aleppo.
The BGM-71 TOW is an aging wire-guided anti-tank missile system that the United States has been supplying to CIA-vetted Syrian rebels. Since their first appearance in 2014, the missiles have popped up throughout the war-torn country, often in videos showing rebels attacking Syrian troops and government-backed militias.
Friday’s video is significant because there is very little footage, if any, of a U.S. TOW going up against one of Russia’s most modern battle tanks. In this case, it is unclear if the T-90 in the video was crewed by Russian or Syrian troops.

Nice shot but the video shows the tank’s crew member bailing out, it looks like the strike did not penetrate the turret and potentially glanced off.
And why are they yelling Hello Akbar?
Syrian Rebels, or ISIS? I don’t think there’s a difference which puts us in the position of arming and ultimately supporting the wrong side. Anyone else thing the Russians are going to appreciate TOW systems in ISIS hands going against their tanks?
Sorry but I side with the Russians in this conflict. Anyone who shouts SNACK BAR is a bad guy as far as Im concerned.

In the video, there is a hit on a T-90 tank by some forces in Sysria. To me there is something inherently disturbing about Muslims of any sort using a US made TOW missile and shouting “Allahu Akbar” before and after the shot.
Further, at the end you can see at least one crew member scramble out of the tank under his own power which would lead me to believe that it wasn’t a full penetration.
Around 51 seconds, I thought I heard someone say “Oh my God” in a low murmur, in English?

Rang their chimes; but, if the crew walked away, then not a hard kill on that asset. Fail! No secondary fires or explosions immediately after the hit either. Needs “Bondo®” and a little new paint.
They will now appreciate keeping the doors closed, and how quietly their tank operates without functioning ears.

I was thinking the same thing. That guy climbing out of the tank must have had some earache. But he did get out, quickly.
Our anti tank missiles need a little more pizzazz.
Because they are Islamic Terrorists . And we are supporting them.
