Trump going after Bush in debate was "strategic" [vanity]

Posted on 02/14/2016 10:50:41 AM PST by springwater13

Is anybody talking about Ted Cruz this morning? The only thing people remember about Ted at the debate was everyone calling him a liar. The Trump/Bush war has taken all the media oxygen away from Ted. Tomorrow when "W" has his rally with Jeb the media will dissect every word for every perceived slight against Trump. Then Trump will inevitably respond and on and on it goes. 2 or 3 very important days of media cycles taken away from Cruz as he tries to win South Carolina where he is 22 points behind.

Trump's support is the most solid. His 30-35% of the vote is going nowhere but the Trump hater votes is up for grabs and some of that may go to Jeb now. Who knows Jeb may even surge and come in 2nd or 3rd and create more chaos. That benefits Trump. The more chaos, the more anti-Trump vote is divided, the better chances he wins the nomination. What he's doing is very strategic to create controversy, maximize news cycles and divide and conquer his competition.

Bush came across as a winey , fairy , mama boy.

He wanted ot attack trump knowing the crowd was all stacked for him and as for the crowd.

they were a disgrace and should be embarrassed. they acted like children in a playground. The point of a debate is to talk and let others hear, not to boo and cheer when it suits their guy who they control with their money.

There should be full disclosure prior to the debates as to the allocation of the tickets.

Trump wants controversy and chaos so he can avoid answering the hard questions.

Trump’s all out assault on Bush2 was also meant to appeal to some of the white working class voters who for some insane reason continue to vote democrat. Also, Trump was the only candidate who even mentioned the Carrier move to Mexico, a move that may also appeal to white working class union members.

I think Trump should have even gone further and pinned the original sin in Iraq right on Bush1.

worst debate thus far. The crowd was awful, the mods were awful and Bush was there to attack and try to look tough.

Trump is brilliant. He knew Jebbie was bringing his brother to campaign on Monday. Now the whole narrative is that Trump said Bush lied about WMD and didn’t keep us safe on 9/11. This ties the Bush family squarely around Jeb’s neck. Trump has beaten Jebbie like a pinata. Think of the irony of the matter where Jeb started the campaign trying to distance himself from his family, then brings in mommy and George to help and where ultimately Trump will deliver the final blow in SC where Jeb will finish behind Cruz, Rubio and Kasich.

I had it on the TV but sound was down and I was doing something else. The only thing that caught my eye was an exchange between Cruz & Trump that looked heated. Without the sound, I could only see that Trump was trying to cut Ted off. Trump looked a bit miffed.

It was good you had the sound down as the crowd made it unbearable and then the candidates all bickering just added to the travesty.

The ends justify the means with your Messiah Trump? Against Republicans to boot? From Reagan’s 11th commandment to Saul Alinsky’s “ends justify the means,” this is the state that Donald Trump (and John McCain earlier) have brought to their fellow Republicans.

Trump answering Jeb with “your mother should be running” is hopefully the line that ends any thought of Jeb going anywhere except home.

Bush needs to go away.

Your family has had two bites at the apple. You’re done. Same with Clintigula and his horse.
