This is where the concept of emminent domain comes from, it has been distorted and missused.
Does an attempt to take a house to build a parking lot for a private business fall under this clause - It shouldn't, that isn't what this ammendment was designed for.
Does building roads, railroads, powerlines, ditches and pipelines fall under this provision? I believe it does. If it didn't it would not be possible for any of those things to be built.

Trump hasn’t acquired one square inch of property though eminent domain. All this talk about Trump and eminent domain is a dog that only does not hunt - it’s a dog that’s DEAD.
