Last night after the debate, CNN continued their embarrassing butt-covering campaign regarding the Carsongate fiasco. The essential issue in this story is that the people who are attacking Ted Cruz on this (including Ben Carson) are intentionally conflating a series of tweets that were sent by CNN reporter Chris Moody, and what was said on air by CNN anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash while the caucuses were ongoing.
The people who are using Ben Carson, and CNN themselves, like to focus on the Chris Moody tweets, because it's true that right after Moody tweeted that Carson was going home to Florida, he clarified that Carson was not suspending his campaign. However, when Cruz has explained what happened and why, he has referred to the on air reporting from Tapper and Bash, and not the tweet from Moody. Let's look at what Cruz said, specifically, during the course of last night's debate:

I saw part of this live... Thought that crossed my mind when I watched...
It reminded me of the CBS/Dan Rather Memogate fiasco. In particular that in this case - as in the Memogate case - you had to go to the blogosphere to get the real truth. Additionally, I thought that apparently CNN never got the memo that people don't like the media trying to be an active player in the outcome of elections.
Perfectly legitimate to bring up. Again, Cruz misrepresented the time line and Carson corrected him. People will make up their own minds about the duplicity. Cruzers are lucky they didn’t make more of it.

Cruz did a great job of explaining what happened and looked very gracious in apologizing.
Cruz looks more presidential in each debate. He's calm, cool and collected. He doesn't get rattled and the moderators can't get him on their "gotcha" questions. He is the man I want on the stage when the Pub debates hillary and the moderators.

Hogwash. CNN is a legitimate source for accurate news, solidly in second place for viewership. They are to be respected; especially when they attack Cruz - ask any Trump supporter.
Exactly right. Tons of time spent on the Cruz nothingburger, and zero attention paid to the trail of out and out fraud following the Hildebeast wherever she goes.
Yeah, the moment I see that name, I know I’m getting the media propaganda arm of the Cruz campaign.

Why dont we just take the original, erase the names off, and write “Cruz really wrote this” at the bottom?
If CNN isn't legitimate then Cruz shouldn't have run with their "news" about Carson.
Its not like he really wants to take on Trump anyway...
He keeps misrepresenting the timeline. It negates the apology. And Carson didn’t play the victim card - he didn’t bring it up, ABC did. I know you want everybody to roll over and play dead to get your guy elected but that’s totally unrealistic. And Trump - if I remember correctly - had nothing to say about it last night.
You have no idea what Cruz did in high school? I suggest you research that information.
Let’s see Trump win debates and cases brought before the Supreme Court.
