When I vote for a pastor of a church, I will keep Cruz in mind.
Right now we are electing a President of the United States.
Cruz needs to drop out and wait for Trump to nominate him for the Supreme Court. In fact, tonight if Cruz announced he was dropping out, he’d do a significant service to the country.
“Does his “faith journey” include schmoozing a pair of gay executives who represent “NY Values” in order to get money from them??”
But this is an election year, and some people in Iowa like politicians saying things like that and Cruz’s faith journey is special to him, so it should be more special to us because he is special. Get it?
Well said.

Veteran Rally tonight at 7:00 p.m. CST
God Bless Our Troops. Give them a CIC worthy of their sacrifice and whose ROE won’t aid the enemy. Go Trump!
It’s unseemly to attack a guy’s conversion story. Just accept it as is and move on.
Check my posting to see my candidate.
But, I’m a pastor and a retired Army Chaplain, and we always rejoice with the angels at anyone who commits their life to Jesus.
Look. You would be outraged if a Muslim was spouting their religious stuff. It is wonderful that Cruz is a Christian, but he is a “Jim and Tammy Fae Baker” type Christian. Do as I say not as I do type. Christians do not lie as much as Cruz does. He is a fake and fraud on America. Thank God the voters aren’t warming up to his nonsense.
Oh, you mean he’s done PANDERING to Iowa corn farmers to increase the boondoggle of ethanol subsidies. Oh, he’s now using wounded veterans as props when he was against them and their commander-in-cheif when they had boots on the ground? Coming from a candidate who dodged the draft with “medical” deferments 5 times and equating his time in prep school to the service of those who did serve and makes the outrageous statement a “hero is someone who doesn’t get captured”Â?
Thank You.
...why?
Okay, I’m always happy when people have faith. So go Cruz, all the way into eternal life.
On the other hand, this is really coming across as a crass attempt to rile up Iowa evangelicals instead of being sincere, and if it comes across as more than that to me, what will it sound like to non-evangelical votes in Iowa?
Perhaps I’m just bitter and cynical this morning.
Any you pulled every bit of that post out of your backside.
1. Islam does not = Christianity
2. I am glad you know Ted Cruz’s heart, and that your version of Christianity is better than his.
Please go to link to read the entire article.... this is just an excerpt.

Why the excerpt? Why not post the entire article?
Addendum to my last post. I did not intend for my post to be attacking Cruz in any way. He is not my #1 candidate, but he’s still better than 80% of the field. And I will not denigrate sincere faith in Christ.
My vote isn’t based on his Christianity, but Ted Cruz is the right man for the times. He has a track record of not pandering to liberals or their causes and hasn’t had to make a “conversion of convenience” to run as a conservative when he decided to enter the campaign field of candidates.
Because of copyright rules. I try my best to respect them on Freerepublic. If you click excerpt when posting, it limits you to around 300 words. If you want to post the whole thing that is fine with me.
GO TED CRUZ.....
They didn’t have to.
Religion wasn’t relegated to one day a week back then.
“I’m the greatest Christian”
Give me a break. What does that make me? I went to church camp every summer with my two sisters, my mother was the Director of Christian Education and my Dad was a Deacon. Maybe I’m the greatest Christian in the world.
This is not witnessing this is false witnessing.
No charges of lying against Cruz have ever stuck. It’s one of those deals where the seriousness of the charge outweighs whether or not it’s true. Unfortunate we live in a culture where that can happen.
Peace,
SR
Where does he say that?
Why is his conversion story offensive to you.
This was not posted as an attack on anyone’s personal conversion story.
I am Pro Ted Cruz
I am but a sinner that is saved by the grace of Jesus Christ. I am no more Christian than you are.
If we follow God’s word, and are saved through Christ we are one in Christ as well.
Maybe you are the greatest Christian and I am happy with that. I am not always the best Christian, but each day I try to do better.
