After my dad became a Christian, we all moved together to Houston. And seeing the amazing transformation in her husband, my mom became a Christian within a year as well. Thus, by age 4, I was blessed to be being raised in a Christian home with two strong (but new) believers as parents.
I was raised in the church. Each night, my dad would read with me from our children's Bible. We'd memorize Bible verses, and compete to see who could do the best. We'd act out scenes from the Old Testament. We attended Clay Road Baptist Church, pastored by the same Brother Gaylon Wiley who had led my father to the Lord.
When I was 8 years old, I went to our church's summer camp, along (with) my cousin Bibi. At the invitation, tears streaming down my face, Bibi and I both walked down and gave our lives to Jesus.
And it changed my life. To have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to know that God's only Son died to pay for my sins, that I was fallen that I am redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, nothing is more important to me. I am a new creature in Christ, and it central to who I am today.
I couldn't run for president without relying heavily on my faith. When I have doubts, He comforts me. When I am weak, He gives me strength.
-snip-
When I fight to defend religious liberty, it's not purely a constitutional matter; it's a lifelong passion and personal commitment.

GO TED CRUZ! VOTE TED CRUZ!
oh here we go again on how great a Christian this guy is,, if he has to remind people everyday he isn’t that great of a Christian.
Good luck with the person you support. I am sorry this display of Christianity offends you.
I support Ted Cruz.
GO TED GRUZ!! VOTE TED CRUZ!!
Does his “faith journey” include schmoozing a pair of gay executives who represent “NY Values” in order to get money from them??
GO TED CRUZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t remember any of our forefathers “running” on their religion.
Yawn.
Does Ted’s “pastor” dad hold a seminary or bible school degree?
Does Ted?
And I'd research that a little further before I would believe the inference.
oh here we go again on how great a Christian this guy is,, if he has to remind people everyday he isn’t that great of a Christian.
Yep. Cruz is still stuck on first base touting his social conservatism. That’s not now you get elected POTUS in the Age of Kardashian.
“O Canada” will be our new national anthem?
It is a better song honestly than ours.
Personally I think he bestows a little bit too much glory on the man who witnessed to his father. It’s a nice testimony, but the part where he assumes that his dad would have never found Christ, or that he would have been a drug addict or something, seems to indicate that he thinks God would never have found a way to save his family.
Not knocking Ted for this faith, this is a pretty good read about how a person’s life can be turned around by the power of Christ. I get thanking the guy who opened his dad’s eyes, but I think he goes a little overboard in his praise of the man.
How is that even relevant? Are people not allowed to express faith in Christ until they’ve earned a particular kind of diploma?
They weren’t living in such a Godless society. Why would they need to. To be a Christian was their first nature, not an afterthought as it is today. Today people call out Christians to be the ones who are weird and on the fringe of society. That is very sad.
Ted Cruz is a Christian man.
An attempt to tear down Cruz, especially by attacking his Christianity, does not elevate my opinion of Trump but lowers it.
Most of the time attacks on people’s faith and religion are done by people on the left, my how far we have fallen.
I have Cruz as my first choice. because of his belief in the Constitution. if he were Jewish or any Christian group would not matter to me.
I will vote for Trump if he is the party winner. His closing the borders and sending back those of the Death-Cult Islam, does it for me. but I still would prefer Cruz.
Why is that pic even relevant, was my point.
Does his “faith journey” include schmoozing a pair of gay executives who represent âNY Valuesâ in order to get money from them??
And does Cruz’s “faith journey” include “Texas Values” like exonerating PP for butchering babies and indicting the investigators? Ted really should clear that whole “values” thing up since he brought it up in the first place.
This place is degenerating into DU before our very eyes.
