"I didn't think he went too far," King said on CNN of Cruz's comments on New York values, "until I saw Donald Trump's reaction. And then I thought it would've been better on the part of Ted Cruz not to have had that exchange."

King continued to praise Trump

I can’t stand NY. The people in NY have contributed to some of our worst leadership problems ever. Never will their be any apologies or compromise from me.

One of the tests of a good leader is admitting you made a mistake.
Cruz messed up.
Note to Ryan...this is how you admit you were WRONG

Trump handled this brillantly and I am a Cruz supporter.
We all know what Cruz is saying; but Trump was masterful at turning it around.
Trump must have some REALLY GOOD people advising him and debate prepping him.

Steve King will soon be unemployed, but maybe he can get hired on at Team Trump.

To a certain extent there is over-analysis here, on both sides... on all sides.

A debate is not a tennis match where you add up points and declare a winner. It is a forum to expose voters to the candidates, with the goal of helping them decide who to vote for.

You can *win* a debate, especially a debating point, and lose an election.

I say that even though I am, of course, a Trump supporter. I dont think this New York Values question is going to amount to a hill of beans.

I am supporting Trump because I believe he is the best shot at locking down the border (and all forms of immigration) and ending censorship (aka mainstream media propaganda).

If enough people trust Trump to take on these and/or other issues that are important to them, then Trump will get more votes in the majority of primary states. If not, not.

It is not about debate points.

Cruz giving a little ground last night and gaining a lot today.

He doesn’t make mistakes like this and appears to have goaded the media into proving his point.

No. Cruz should completely avoid any more discussion on this.

On another thread, it was mentioned that today he was "clarifying" his remarks or something.

He needs to quit digging that hole. Now.

The NYT cover explains Ted Cruz’s reemarks much better than I ever could. If you can’t see and understand, it could be that you live in NY City. You elected a governor that told the rest of the coountry how you feel about us poor old bumbass hicks out side the city.

No, I don’t live in NYC, nor even that state; I am, however, an ex-pat CONSERVATIVE New Yorker and that’s something you don’t understand and never shall.

Don’t be delusional: Cruz stepped in it big time and even his National Co-Chair agrees.

He should have said LIBERAL VALUES and left it at that. Now he needs to apologize and back away.

The rest of America thinks NYC is a sewer, so Cruz won the debate.
