Haley, the first governor in the history of South Carolina who is neither white nor male, suggested Wednesday that the United States has never "passed any laws or done anything based on race or religion." Except that is exactly what the United States has been doing...

Her parents were not naturalized before she was born.

She has another problem.

Whatever the rules, how is it that half the people vying for top public offices have foreign parents? Is it just too few fully blooded Americans care to get into politics, or maybe these folks who were bred to know America for all it should be are inspired to follow this path? Whether it’s Rubio, Cruz, Jindal, or Haley, they all had at least one foreign parent who came to America to pursue their dreams.

If she had any national aspirations she ahs now done to herself what Rand Paul did to himself by endorsing Mitch McConnell and what Sarah Palin did to herself by endorsing McCain.

If I could have reached thru the radio yesterday, Father forgive me, but I would have choked this person.

How dare you, after all we have suffered this past 8 years, how dare you betray.

Total betrayal. I’d like to hear from SC voters.

I keep cyber-screaming my point. This is why we have to stick to born on US soil of two US citizens. (Because of Obama it might be down to one US citizen parent) Or else you could get someone like this person who is clueless about US history and culture in the Presidential hunt.

Isn't that what it's all about for the elitists? Destroy our uniqueness and sovereignty in favor of the global empire. We're being led down a slippery slope folks, and the powers that be are leading us down it with a conservative as the Pied Piper.

It's all crystallizing in my mind. My (granted totally subjective feeling) is that with the birther issue, Cruz is a tool of the elite globalists. Whether he's aware he's being used or not, that's the question.

And, Nikki Haley wants to let in Syrian refujihadis. But I think she’s also aware that we South Carolina rednecks are armed to the teeth.

“Cowboys and Muslims” could likely break out in the Palmetto State as any other state.

Ala Rubio.

Born in the USA to immigrants, just like children of "illegal" immigrants?

Do either case qualify as Presidential material?

A lot of good Americans are 1st and 2nd generation, but I’ve always had a concern that while they might encompass an almost fetish-like devotion to capitalism and Constitutional freedom, there is a lacking knowledge or interest in history and culture. And wittingly or unwittingly, they can become tools of the left in its PC agendas to destroy institutions, traditions, etc.

Yeah she sure doesn't know her U.S. history to make stupid blanket statements like that

Ask the Chinese brought here to build the intercontinental railway, the immigrants from Ireland Germany and Italy who came to build the cities, Americans of Japanese ancestry, the Cherokees and other native Indians and Hawaiians, and of course the whole history of legislation regarding slavery including “ Dred Scott” the once law of the land.

That's just off the top of my head from my son's homeschool American history lessons

Maybe Governor Haley should spend time watching “ America: The Story of us” and the series on the US presidents

In fairness, Trump's mother was born in Scotland.

Yep, projection, indeed. She lost me in her hurry to be PC in the Confederate flag flap, even though I have no dog in the fight . . . unless you count a balanced dog.

One of my 2x grand uncles fought for the Union in the Nevada cavalry; several of my wife's line fought for the Confederacy. Remarkably, all had family roots in Tennessee. My sympathies in that war really lie with people like Jimmy Stewart & family in the epic movie Shenandoah.

In my desk nearby, I have a stack of yearbooks from a school I attended. Our mascot was of an old, mustachioed Confederate veteran, and the teams known as the ‘rebels.’ Hence, those yearbooks all display the stars-and-bars. I couple this with my memories of driving around my grandfather cross-country to his old hometown in Georgia, where he doted over the various historical markers and such, that he nostalgically remembered. He loved history.

Hence, when Haley immediately joined up with the cultural-marxists of the Left, and framed these symbols to their demented definitions of ‘hatred’ and ‘Nazi-esque,’ which then started the ball rolling for more historical scrubbings of monuments, street-signs, etc., I couldn’t help but take it personally. As well as become alarmed at seeing such Mao-style efforts of cultural cleansing taking place right here and now in America. Haley totally empowered this. I have nothing but complete and unmittigated contempt for her.

Well the “official” numbers of foreign born residents according to the 2010 census is 39 million plus or 13% of the population.

When this political cycle started there were 26 major candidates for both parties. So, just running the numbers, there should be 2-3 candidates with foreign born parents.

That we have so many ineligible candidates is another failure of the education system, which has produced a general lack of understanding of American Civics.
