How A Donald Trump Nomination Would Make The GOP Consultant Class Very Rich - Easy Marks
Redstate ^ | 1/10/16 | Dan McLaughlin

While Donald Trump won't be the GOP nominee, reclaiming the party from Trump still requires that we contemplate what a Trump nomination and even possibly a Trump presidency would look like. The picture isn't a pretty one. One of the under appreciated aspects is how any electoral success by Trump in the primaries and potentially the general election could spawn a bonanza for the GOP's much-despised consultant class, at the expense of the party's ability to field principled and/or successful statewide and national candidates.

The reason for this is fairly straightforward: Trump is the avatar of the clueless-rich-guy style of candidate that is the absolute favorite target of consultants. Oh, the consultants working for other candidates right now would be, momentarily, upset if Trump won the nomination; the're hired guns, but they do like to win. And consultants for Senate and House Republicans would be dismayed for a while by how a Trump nomination would cost the GOP Senate and House seats and make Chuck Schumer the Senate Majority Leader. But there's always another campaign season.

Figured some Trumpite head spinning and vomit spewing would be a good way to end the night.

So you are here just to kick the sand mound and rattle the cage?

All they have is old models and precedent. They study the past. This is a new era. Their old formulas aren't valid. They don't have anything to compare Trump to. No one knows what he might do as President. I don't underestimate the force of his will. He is a man among children. He is our last chance to turn around 60 + years of globalization and American decay. Given the chance, he can fix a lot of this.

Let's not forget that it has been a very long time since we have had an executive in the executive office.

You'd never know it. They're working for losers.

“While Donald Trump won’t be the GOP nominee...”

Stated with such a statement of fact. That makes this author either very stupid or knows something we don’t.

“And consultants for Senate and House Republicans would be dismayed for a while by how a Trump nomination would cost the GOP Senate and House seats...”

Another assumption. How does a Trump win turn into Democrats picking up seats in the Senate and House? Are these same voters so sick of Washington going to say I’m voting for Trump...and the most liberal democrat Senator I can find!” ????

Makes no sense at all to me.

Rabid Teddy Bears are a better way to end the night.

If you honestly believe the crap you post, I’m really going to enjoy your whining after Trump is inaugurated. Hopefully you’ll just take your toys and go home.

These people are losing their grip....literally. They could be out of business having been exposed as parasite frauds. The squeeling of these pigs will be heard all over the country on blogs, on TV, newspapers...

How far they are falling after successfully taking out Sarah Palin with a show of unbelievable nastiness and cruelty.

They say that "clueless candidates" need consultants, but Trump does not hire consultants.

Fail in first paragraph; entire theme of article implodes.

Only a complete moron would entertain the notion that the GOP consulting class is going to eat Trump’s lunch.

Yes, indeedy, McCain, Romney, Dole, et al, were terrible candidates. There are a lot of very young people who have no sense of history, nor are they aware of the patterns our primaries follow. Hang in there, you are quite correct. Let us pray that Trump is the beginning of a new paradigm. He is not perfect but he sure can buy us the time we need to fix our country (provided God grants us a spiritual awakening.)
