The GOP Primaries Will Pare the 2016 Nominees Down to These Five
The Fiscal Times ^ | 12/30 | Rob Garver

Posted on 12/30/2015 6:42:06 AM PST by TangledUpInBlue

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has said he will not participate in an “undercard” debate if he is not allowed on the main stage in the next Republican debate, which would be tantamount to quitting the race. Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee has said that he will bow out if he doesn’t poll in the top three in the Iowa caucuses on February 1. And considering that he is currently in a three-way tie for 7th place in that state’s polling average, there seems to be a good chance that he’ll be gone before New Hampshire votes on February 9.

Given his money, I could see Bush on this list and not Carson, but other than that, I think it's spot on.

I’d like to know why Rubio is referred to at Sen., Christie is Gov., but Cruz and Carson are not Sen. And Dr.

Just the polls should have pared the list to 3 by now ... Carson is a good guy but he is not ready for Prime Time ... Bush should just go rent a boat and sail off to where ever his Hispanic wife came from ...

Without strong double digits ... their names should not even be on the ballot ...

Hopefully, poll numbers don't decide who's on the ballots.

I hate when forced exerpting removes the meat of the article.

The list is Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Carson, Christie.

Well if the voters will not venture out in the snow to vote for Trump, why would they go out in snow for anyone else? They stand in snow in line to attend rally.

Garver is late to the party. I've been posting the double digit thing for months. By the second week in January, 10 months to the election, it should only be the top two.

Wow. Of all things to be outraged about. Keep focused for God’s sake. It really doesn’t matter. Gosh I hope you don’t fall over dead over this.

The ONLY Reason that anyone is going to be on a Primary Ballot with less that double digits in polling is because the GOP Establishment is hoping against hope that they can push Bush... And I seriously question the numbers of any poll that go for Rubio

If a candidate cannot muster double digits in an average of polls - then he / she is NOT WANTED PERIOD ... everything else is just a Propping up by the GOP Establishment ... What was Kasich doing even in the debates? And Bush in the first tier after he crashed ... It is just Establishment Engineering and nothing else ...

The sort of obvious question that biased reporting never asks. Frankly, it's the only straw they have left before the actual votes start rolling in. Expect to hear a lot more of this before February 1st.

I think all the names should be on the ballot and on (pick a day) the entire nation should vote for their party's nominee.

With our instant communication there's no reason to do this long drawn out primary process and phony conventions.

I don’t believe Suz expressed outrage as much as acknowledging the bias the writer was exhibiting for Senator Rubio and Governor Christie and against Senator Cruz, Senator Paul and Dr. Carson.

I mean in the big picture that is so petty that it is laughable. It seems whiney which is the last thing we want as a President (if they feel the same way).

Ok. So I went and looked at the article to see what all the injustice was about. My gosh. In the text of the paragraphs they used titles, but when the others received their OWN paragraphs they used the last name. The outrage is even less merited then I thought.

There are only two in the top tier that are on the side of the citizens and the rule of law.
The rest work for The Cheap Labor Express and would give away the country.

It’s not outrage, but noticing the subtle subconscious omission of titles from the names of non-establishment candidates possibly exposing the bias of the author. I found it interesting.

The ONLY Reason that anyone is going to be on a Primary Ballot with less that double digits in polling is because the GOP Establishment is hoping against hope that they can push Bush..>>> they split the vote which is what they need to do to go to a brokered convention. A candidate needs 8 states with a majority (50+%) of the vote not 49% but 50+% for the presentation of the name of that candidate for nomination. I think if that is the case Cruz and Trump can combine votes in some manner but i don’t know it says pres and vice.
